I agree, I am not sure how people are saying that Trump threw a hissy fit or was a man baby. Speaking as someone who did not vote for Trump I actually thought he was cordial but aloof, and the reporter was aggressive and rude.
He said he wouldn't take a question from him. He asked Acosta to be polite. And when Acosta persisted he just said "look, you're the fake news". He didn't yell, or was belligerent. Just matter of fact, lets move on.
I think partisans are really exaggerating the idea that he threw a hissy fit. Not in the slightest.

Because the free press is one of the cornerstones of our process. The attack on the press we see today is something third world dictatorships do. He's supposed to be able to take the heat.

And he did it to lead into this question from breitbart:
“[With] all the problems that we’ve seen throughout the media over the course of the election, what reforms do you recommend for this industry here?”

This is pathetic, and Americans should be ashamed of it.

This is the same CNN who helped Hillary Clinton to cheat the debates.

The pundits at the other networks are stunned. They absolutely are not used to being held responsible for their biased reporting. I hope we see more of it.

Mark Murray at NBC news says that Trump should show "respect" to American institutions like the MSM. Of course this bubble head created numerous fake polls against Trump.

If any news isn't favorable to Trump it's fake.

If CNN is fake news, who is real news? The National Examiner, The National Inquirer, Breitbart? You may have a problem with the bias of a news company like CNN, but they are for the most part fair. How much interview time and tv time did they give Trump during the campaign, far more than Hillary, Sanders or ANY Republican running in the race.

He doesn't have to take anything from anyone and there's no requirement that he do in order to preserve a free press.

I'll tell you what you see in third-world countries: collusion between the media and the government to shape the narrative, government wire-tapping journalists, government censoring their own media archives to remove things they wish they hadn't publicly said -- you know, things we saw happening during the outgoing administration.

Don't know if you're a football fan but it's like asking your QB to hand the ball off after throwing 5 straight touchdown passes.
But surely any intelligent person -- and I am not saying that Trump is an actual moron -- would know that as President, he will now be addressing not only his supporters, but the entire nation and the world, so it is a completely different ballgame.

Soon only Alex Jones, breitbart, national enquirer, fox news at least those reporters who doesn't anger or hurt his feelings, Jewsnews, and a few other right wing blogs, will be allowed at his press briefings that's OK though president twitter can tell us his plans for the future via Twitter at 3am not like he'll be doing anything anyway

Following the sports analogies you're asking Trump to play to his competition not do what has got him here. Most of the time in sports the team/player that adjusts like that fails.

In any event, it's his game to play as he wishes. He earned it by getting this far.

Its funny you should mention that collusion thing.

Heres the question he asked breitbart news after shouting down CNN:

Trump went to Matt Boyle of Breitbart.com, who proceeded to ask Trump about “all the problems that we’ve seen throughout the media over the course of the election” and “what reforms do you recommend for this industry here?”

Yeah.

Anyone remember when these 'reporters' Demanded and Screamed out to be heard at an Obama presser?

Oh, that's right .. they were given the questions that they were Allowed to ask before the presser!
