Why? No really, why should they do this? Almost every country on the planet has laws about this stuff. Why is it some moral imperative that we do not?
Its kinda sorta a central tenet to Christianity....
Quote:
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
If they want to turn into flop houses for illegals, fine. But those illegals will not be able to ever leave those churches. Are the churches sure that's what they want? Is it legal for them to house people in a building not constructed (e.g., insufficient bathrooms for housing people), zoned, etc., to do so?
Also, simple matter for ICE to wait outside for the illegals to step outside. Even once. Boom. Arrested. Deported.
Seems the religious leaders are just gathering sitting ducks. Not too smart. /SMH
I'm okay with that, but take away their tax exempt status
p.s. - there are about 350,000 churches in the U.S.
I see no problem with that. If they do not want to follow our laws; make them pay. Don't just go after the one church; go after the whole denomination and that would end this refuge in a hurry!
It's all about money. Religion has lost ground in America and they need new members. Poor Hispanics, with strong religious beliefs, seem to fill that opening.
You can have your religion and help people, but don't turn my neighborhood into a dump.
