The GOP plan, seems to be, to vote to repeal Obamacare before Obama even leaves office. The Senate has already voted on it, and it's on its way to the House. The Democrats have absolutely no power to stop it after having been gutted as a political force there over the last 6 years.

Why the timing? Well.. IMO in part to grab Obama by the collar and back slap him a few times on the way out.

What do you think? Do you think the congress will repeal Obamacare before the 20th?

Yes. The death panels can't wait to get down to business.

Oh, they have their replacement ready?

Trump said that there would be a simultaneous repeal and replace.

Trump doesn't control the Congress. This seems to be an independent political vendetta.

As President he can only approve or reject a bill they send to him.

He can also work with congress to influence what is done and a time frame to get it done in.

I would be a sweet send off to do it just prior to Obama leaving office but I don't think it will be completed by then.

I would not want to see it rushed and there is no need to do that. That it be done timely with high priority to not only be done but be a good and better lasting solution flexible enough to be improved upon when necessary is more the desire. I say this because it is not only the liberal elites in congress that are out of touch with the American people but many among the GOP also. It can't be what their idea of better is but what the American people will view as better that is important. They can't come up short and try to BS the people like Obama and the other dishonest liberals did. They will be held accountable because what ever is done will have to satisfy the people or its a failure.

No. They know it will be suicide to repeal the ACA without a replacement. It's all posturing. Unless it comes with a 2-4 year time table so they have time to come up with a replacement. You know, the one they haven't been able to come up with in 8 years.

But if they do come up with a better solution (not just different, but actually better) I will be the first to support it. *cough Universal Healthcare cough*.

If Congress votes to repeal while Obama is still in office he can veto that.

It's very possible that there's a replacement already. They could also repeal it with a time delay like "this law will go into affect in X amount of days". We will NOT be going to "socialcross/socialshield" or "commiecare" that much is evident.

Either way it'll have to be signed by Trump...

That seemed too obvious to warrant a post but then again facts don't matter anymore...

And they're already looking to no longer require insurers' coverage on pre-existing conditions
based on budget they passed. Great job, y'all!
