Dunno, he can pretty much win the dem primary solely due to a pigmentation advantage. (if we're really being honest we know this is true from 2008)

After that all he has to do is sway moderates and most of us don't give a crap about his orientation etc. so I think it could happen.

Frankly I kinda like what I've seen so far from the guy.

I think if he was smart (Booker that is). He would wait and see how things go with Trump. And he probably is being smart about it. Because if things do get better and peoples lives get better especially the ones in the swing states. I think Trump might have an advantage. The last thing Booker needs to do is try and run in 2020 only to lose.

Dislike Trump all you want. But an incumbent President always has a good chance of winning re-election. Granted Trump is a lot different. I just think from a strategic point of view he's probably got a better chance of winning in 2024 than 2020.

so expect this guy to be who Trump faces in 2020
There you go again with identity politics
Let's nominate the guy because he's black and can get the black vote.
Racism at it's worst, in my opinion

I'm not debating if a gay man is qualified, there is just no way it will ever happen.

Democrats must stop their slide to the right on economic issues, they abandoned Flint and Erie for Silicon Valley and Wall St and it cost them the election. My #1 complaint about Obama is he stopped dealing with working people issues (limits on overtime, 10/12 hour work days, paid leave, etc) and instead focused on controversial social issues. I know the past 6 years he had to bypass GOP controlled House and Senate but he stopped trying. Stop the social issue witch hunts and focus on economic issues that affect the bottom 60% of the nation (all races) in a big way. America was so close to joining the rest of the 1st world on a variety of workers issues and the DNC stole the nomination from Bernie.

For 2020...
- Bernie will be too old
- Keith Ellison is Muslim, that would scare too many people away in a general election
- Elizabeth Warren is too East Coast elitest

I actually agree with you, he seems to be a pretty good guy.

I'll also note that as a black person, I know many black people think he's gay and that would be a negative for him with the black demographic.

ETA: I think it would be a plus for him with the white demographic of liberals though.
Agree. If he were smart he'd come out of the closet now so that it is old news by then. If not, it'll dog him throughout.

Democrats dont have a lot of choices in 2020 - your side went WAY too far left over the past 10 years - and there are few moderates left in in your party. You know who scared me in 2016? Jim Webb. I also think Joe Manchin (WV) would give the republicans a run for their money.

but you guys are still looking to win on "historic" nominations like Corey Booker or Gavin Newsom.
