From a legal standpoint, of course. Gotta make sure everything is nice and legal.
Per the Constitution, we can't.
Trump cannot be removed from office unless he committed a serious federal crime "Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors".
Given what has happened this weekend and is still happening now, with essentially various CBP agents defying court orders, who told them so when in fact the court has ordered it. If it was Trump himself who ordered, he may be charged on the basis of contempt of the court and will face impeachment, but of course, the Gas and Oil Party won't allow that to happen.
You'd have to build up a case, just like any good prosecutor.
It's going to take time. This weekend's cluster f**k isn't enough.
We need to know WHY he left Saudi Arabia and Pakistan off the ban list. Is it because he has business interests that present a conflict with the security of this country? In other words, is he more concerned about lining his pocket?
Trump is not going to be impeached unless he really spirals out of control. I agree that right now he is circling the drain but he is not yet going down it. If it gets to the point where he has totally alienated the military, the CIA, and the Congress, and is putting the security of the US at risk, I would not worry about them coming up with some charges to try him on, they will find something. Emoluments is one possibility but I am sure there are others. But as bad as it looks now it has to get a lot worse for the powers of government to do something. It is a serious step to depose the president, even a nut case like Trump.
Section 4 of the 25th allows him to be removed by a vice, speaker and congress. Or some variation .
It requires that he is unfit to serve and that they agree. He would by no means be the first forced out. I believe he would likely step down on medical grounds to save face and his footnote in history.
he would hardly want to go down as the "mad king".
