These court jester's have become so self important that they feel thier perspective and consequenting opinion actually has some sort of connection or importance to people outside if thier own isolated and limited experience.

OP...I've never looked at them differently. Most anyone in showbiz, esp a comedians have problems. I lived in Hollywood, L.A. for 35 years and knew a few. But so what, we all got our own quirks.
They entertain us, but I don't look at them for role modeling. Although Clint had a good point about our generation. They can't think for themselves. They go with what is popular with the dems. If I was onstage I would have given another take on things, but I would not be popular and I would not care a bit.
Watch actors and comedians when they age, the truth starts coming out. You all know Robin Williams was not just a freak just on stage, that was how he was more or less all the time. It takes a special kind of mental illness to do that 24/7. Sure a genius of sorts, but more likely a freak that appears as a genius since he is so odd to the somewhat normal people.
