I don't think Guthrie was espousing illegal immigration. There's nothing I can find in that song that espouses illegal immigration.
Trumps ban is not about illegal immigration.The song sings about how the American Land belongs to all ,just not the orange man in the white house in DC.
Her political statement was the fact that there are all types of Americans - that America is a land of diversity and that this country belongs to all of us.
I agree with the message and enjoyed her performance.
I liked it, but my daughter said her social media is blowing up with upset kids, saying how it sucked and she should have dissed Trumps Presidency.
