It is interesting that in many places the law is still different for males than females with some remnants of the view that males are inherently sexual agents with no harm from the act with a mature women. That in fact is how my generation was in fact raised. I am older than Maher but I suspect he reflects the era in which he was raised. It is also interesting to note the views go both up and down...the age of consent actually was tighter in the early part of the last century than in the 50s and 60s.
