Really interesting. Is it worth it forcing people to do so, especially women?
Yes it is.
On one hand it shows to "American partners" in NATO that Swedes are willing to share the "military/financial burden," on another hand they know that Sweden will never be on the Russian radar for any possible attack, therefore they might as well conscript the women.
And quivering at the thought of Swedish girls in uniform.
Russians will be VERY pensive about that one.
It's still a "traditional" country when it comes to gender roles.
(Women are not conscripted, but can join the army only as contractors, and only for certain positions.)

Say what? Sweden and Denmark control access from the Baltic to the Atlamtic. For Russia, that makes them very attractive pieces of real estate.

Sweden is not even a NATO member. I have served in the miltary, as my country has an active draft system. The system is now finally gender neutral, too. I support the draft system. It makes sense for smaller countries.

I could have understand if you were talking about Spain or Italy, but Russians have enough of their own permafrost already)))
So? Why would Russians be interested in Sweden out of all places?

In Norway.
But not in Russia. Russians don't buy all that politically-correct stuff.
