There's no doubt that tRump was SO unhinged Saturday morning that he tossed this crapola out as another distraction.
Of course, it's completely false. All rational actors are well aware of that. His hardcore base is circling the wagons in a vain attempt to protect him, but that's in their DNA and that's what they do, no matter what. As he said a few months ago, he could murder someone in public on 5th avenue and his base would stick with him.
When this is shown to be nothing but another BS storm, it will just be another big dent in what tiny remnant of credibility this fool still has. And THAT is what is going to hamstring whatever is left of his "presidency."

I'm not sure what is worse - that Trump believes or does not believe there's any truth to the allegations. Either way, there's just no way that these tweets are acceptable.
If he WAS using the tweets as a so-called clever "distraction" over Sessions, it is the height of irresponsibility to choose such incendiary material. For God's sake, the man is the President of the United States. In any case, that tactic sure back-fired.
OTOH, if he believed the allegations to be true, it's downright frightening that he'd TAKE "news" from talk radio / Breibart. He the denouncer of the fake media. And then even worse to be so impulsive.
Either way, Trump seems to have stewed all night ... and then let loose.
Sean Spicer listed "Heat Street" as one of their credible sources. But the editor of Heat Street says that her article doesn't support what the White House is saying.
Quote:
In tweets on Monday, Mensch emphasized that her reporting does not back up Trump’s wiretapping claim, even though the White House cited her article to justify the allegation. She stressed that her reporting refers to a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant and does not mention anything about wiretapping.
Bear in mind that Levin is a Constitutional lawyer. He isn't just some dude with a radio program.
So what? Barack Obama was a professor of constitutional law, chose not to be some dude with a radio program and went on to earn a fairly prestigious career. Some take a path commensurate with their skills...
Grassley probes FBI's ties to British spy who investigated Trump
It's getting uglier.
From The Hill by Jonathon Easley -
"Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has opened an inquiry into allegations the FBI worked with the British spy who authored a controversial opposition research dossier on President Trump during the 2016 election.
In a Monday letter to FBI Director James Comey, Grassley asked for records pertaining to any agreements the agency may have had with Christopher Steele. The MI6 agent wrote an explosive memo on behalf of Trump’s political enemies alleging that the Russians had compromising information on the president."
Grassley is doing so because of this from the WaPo pub 2/28/17 -
"The former British spy who authored a controversial dossier on behalf of Donald Trump’s political opponents alleging ties between Trump and Russia reached an agreement with the FBI a few weeks before the election for the bureau to pay him to continue his work, according to several people familiar with the arrangement.
The agreement to compensate former MI6 agent Christopher Steele came as U.S. intelligence agencies reached a consensus that the Russians had interfered in the presidential election by orchestrating hacks of Democratic Party email accounts."
Levin presented evidence. Obama and his administration is toast!
Who cares about any "evidence" from Levin. It is now more than 48 hours since the tweet storm and reportedly Trump has YET to pick up the phone and call Comey. That's (the FBI) where the evidence is (or isn't).
Instead, Trump goes off to play golf.
This is dominating the news cycle with at least half the country seriously considering Trump's fitness to be President.
Do you think Trump could take *some* responsibility for the tweets. Maybe move to either resolve (and apologize) for them OR to address some of the doubts by orchestrating a statement from some responsible official about what it IS that he wants investigated?
But no. Per Spicer, he won't be addressing the matter further until some undefined and possibly never to arrive future date.
This is Trump's modus operandi. He creates chaos then moves on. Unfortunately it's not so amusing now that he's also moved on from the boardroom of the Apprentice to the Oval Office.
So we have a talk show host (Levin) defining the "evidence" and a reality TV star being the President.
Bizarre.
