He doesn't need evidence. Just look at all the pro-Trump posts here feverishly referencing Breitbart and Zero Hedge, and other such looney fake news sites. All he has to do is tweet--doesn't matter what, doesn't matter that he offers no evidence--and they fall right into line. He knows his base: when he gets criticized, he offsets it by ramping up their fear and paranoia. And, in lockstep, they go ballistic. Just as he knows they will. His supporters will never understand--ever--that he's using them.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. It's entirely possible that Trump will be impeached. He's not above the law.

The Congress may not have any options. If the FBI and CIA and NSA produce evidence of the charges, then Trump is out. Remember Nixon.

Unfortunately, as long as Trump retains support among the R base, he will retain support of the R controlled Congress. His base support would have to melt for that to happen, and as C-D illustrates, he could shoot someone in broad daylight on national tv and his base would find a way to rationalize it.
The POTUS has a Russia problem. David K Johnson and his non-profit company tracked a plane owned by a Russian Oligarch, who overpaid for a Trump property in FLA, to cities that the Candidate was visiting. The strangest one I saw was a trip both took to Concord Regional Airport on the same day. Then they both took the same trip to Charlotte.
This Oligarch has also been going to FLA the same weekends as the POTUS.

But the Congress won't have any choice in the matter if evidence is produced by the intelligence agencies that the accusations against him are true. In any case, an increasing number of Republicans are distancing themselves from Trump. As anyone with even the slightest bit of sense is doing.
Trump makes wild accusations constantly without proof.
Either that or the paper trail is just catching up and he has concrete proof. Could be the first former President indicted for crimes. Very interesting.
