Yes...the government.....

Do yo have kids? Did the government take care of them?

Did the government take care of your parents?

Of course not, unless you are some kind of extremely bad parent/mother.

ummm... while it is true that a corporation's income comes basically from selling their stuff to consumers, and all costs of production, overhead, etc., are part of the end price, corporate taxes are only paid on net profit.

One way to avoid having to pay corporate taxes would be to control production costs and price one's goods such that a corporation avoids having much net profit to be taxed. Or, we continue to keep a lot of those loopholes where a corporation like GE or Exxon, or trump, can have lots and lots of net profit, but still not have to pay much, or sometime even any, taxes. If you wanna cut the corp tax rate, then the loopholes should also go away. But, they won't go away. We all know that. So, the final analysis will be that there will be a lot less taxes being paid.

Yes. THE GOVERNMENT.

Yes I have children.

Yes I take care of them.

Yes the GOVERNMENT helped with PROGRAMS that BENEFITED my CHILDREN and ELDERLY parents/grandparents.

Not a difficult concept to grasp unless one CHOOSES to look at the world in a black and white way. WHICH IS NOT REALITY.

We can't continue to fund every wet dream program the Democrats dream up! They're giving away money to every so-called "needy" group, and even giving money to people who are not even citizens! Everyone of these "programs" cost other people money (in taxes) or simply puts the U.S. further in debt.

It's about time someone got serious about cutting out some of this crap (and, yes, that includes PBS, the Left-Wing taxpayer funded Propaganda Broadcast Service).

Obama (and Bill Clinton before him) cut military spending to pay for a lot of socialist programs. This left our military in very poor shape by the time Obama got done, and yet defense is the one legitimate and primary purpose of the Federal Government.

Why didn't you take care of your husband's grandmother? You don't take care of your own family?
MOW has been around since 1954. Before that, well, some probably went hungry. There were fewer elderly then, as well. I was around then; there were very few people in their 90s. Now, there are many. Also before that, families lived closer together.

You want to shame people about not taking care of their families. My mom lived 1500 miles away from me, and it was not possible for me to move there. MOW was a god-send for her. Her program was run out of her church, which she and my father contributed to heavily for at least 40 years prior to her receipt of MOW.

Not lies. Truth. Hopefully, some of these outrageous cuts will not take place; because 2018 we will vote the republicans out of congress.

The republicans always want to cut programs like arts, humanity, education, medical science, etc. I don't know why.........guess some of them don't know the meaning of empathy, helping the less fortunate.

I understand at lest 500,000 vets are getting meals on wheels and they should.

A friend of mind, is legally blind and in her nineties and is still in her own home. She worked over 35 years and does have help to clean and drive her to doctor's and occasional outings.

Meals on wheels costs about $5 a meal these days, in our community. (Not free.) if people can't pay there is help.

Trump's administration is so out of tune with the people he promised to help. Drain the swamp? The wall should be built around him. Yeah, he wants to build a stupid wall that will end up costing us about 21 BILLION, by the time it would be completed. Too many loopholes, here.

Its true ignorance. They TRULY can not see how these programs improve society, not to mention the lives of Americans. All they see is dollar signs. Greed, greed, greed.
