Let's face it, Trump was in a bad spot. He should have told Paul Ryan to shove it when Ryan released this plan, but then Ryan could have asked Trump to present his own plan and Trump would have been caught with his pants down. So Trump kind of awkwardly and haphazardly embraced it, and either way it is going to be a failure for his administration. If it passes, people are not going to like it because it's an uglier bill than Obamacare is (and Obamacare was ugly.) If it doesn't pass, then this deals trump a loss on his first policy initiative.

But Trump is smart. He may know this is bad for the GOP, and is just playing the long game. The House GOP makes strange bedfellows for him. He might want a lot of them to lose in the midterms, so he can campaign for more Trump style lawmakers in congress when he runs for re-election in 2020. Trump may simply be enabling Paul Ryan to hoist himself on his own petard.

WHOA THERE BUDDY>

Trump lied .

Trump lied to you, to me and everyone else.

Trump claimed he had a plan. A great plan that would cover everyone, where is the plan?

WHERE IS TRUMPS PLAN~!!

Trump promised a plan, he delivered His name on whatever congress handed him. Trump lied. Trumpcare is a lie, he did not deliver what he promised and if it fails, it is on TRUMP.

TRUMP is the BOSS. He is in charge and he has delegated the work to others so he can play golf. Trump is lazy, mean and a liar.

IF Trumpcare fails it proves that Trump is liar and no deal maker just a deal faker.

Insisting on calling it Trumpcare is just weird to me, but OK. Trump has 40% of people who support him no matter what. Ryan is unpopular both within and outside his party. Plus, Ryan is on the ballot next year. Trump is not. Plus, everyone, Donald Trump supporters included, knows Trump hasn't even read this plan. Ryan obsessed over this plan and this is still the best he could come up with, which is pathetic.

Call it Trumpcare if you want, but it just doesn't land IMO nor does it help you achieve what your goal should be, and that's the GOP losing their majorities in the midterms next year.

May actually be the time for some version of UHC. As the thing grinds to a halt and all realize the have no where to go UHC may provide an out. A minority of the Republicans and the Democrats could do it. There is pretty good analysis that UHC can actually cut the cost of health care.

And it is probably the only way the Republicans can escape the vise they are caught in.

RyanCare failed because Republicans wanted to repeal a name, Obama, not healthcare! The Republicans tried to rush with bill through, not taking time to improve it and get it right the first time!

These Republicans would never do that. The Democrats might, especially if a lot of Sanders-types get elected next year. I actually think Trump would go along with that, but would the Democrats hold their noses and hand him a huge policy victory like that? Could be a game changer.

It is not weird. He added a provision to woo ny congressmen. He pitched it. When you do things like that you own it. These actions show he completely lied on the campaign trail.

Not to benefit the "Whole".

The above describes what way back when describes OLD ( Century old ways) rules.. Remember the story written in the BIBLE about Jesus confronting the "Tax-Collectors".. which thousands of years later represents the "Lobbyists who compel the lawmakers to rule to benefit their bottom line" ! Oligarchy in Russia .. Wall street in America.. Selfish Politicians who manipulate laws to benefit their benefactors .. however.. the constituents who vote for their representative only gives lip service to gain votes.. then blocks laws that a benefit them.. and blames everybody else for why their constants are suffering.

Above is simply modern day Tax-Collectors Story as told in the bible ... So, please allow yourselves to apply this to a Democratic Government.. versus what existed back 2017+++ years ago. Jesus was fighting against the ELITE.. not Government.. there was no modern day government back then.. nor anything close to a voted in governing body. Today.. Putin says he was voted in ( LOL... thus elected meanwhile kills off all descanters) ..then of course Saddam Hussain suggested the same thing and no one would ever suggest their regimes were elected by a free and fair vote.

Just thought I would interject my views on some of the ridiculous names/labels be thrown out their by Trumpeters and those who somehow think that freedom is solely based on buying a gun or killing someone who makes you angry or hating the very entity (Govt) that provides amenities for you.. because they are ignorant that the providers of them is actually the ones who provide them!! SMH!!

Sorry.. off my soap box.. It's really tiring listen to such off the wall deflections like what I am reading on so many threads in the Political arena. Thanx for your indulgence

Trumpcare - when the GOP will aim to cut a billion or two off healthcare subsidies for the working class, then turn around and request an extra $100 million to pay for Trump's over-the-top extravagant lifestyle. Sad. Truly pitiful.
