So, now one child's sexual identity issues outweigh the rights of many others? Would y'all be ok with your teenage boy getting undressed in the same locker room with teen girls or visa versa? I won't even go into the involuntary physical reaction that many teen boys would have when seeing a naked girl standing there. Could be embarrassing as all hell... The Principal told the parents that the BOY should use the nurses office to change if he had a problem changing with girls or just withdraw from school and be home schooled.
Anyone else think this is insane? Why shouldn't the "girl" change in the nurses office or stay home?

Quote:
A teenage boy was told by school leaders that he had to “tolerate” undressing in front of a female student and to make it as “natural” as possible, according to a blockbuster lawsuit filed in a Pennsylvania federal district court.

Last Fall, the teen boy was standing in his underwear inside a locker room at Boyertown Area High School preparing to change for a physical education class.

“He suddenly realized there was a member of the opposite sex changing with him in the locker room, who was at the time, wearing nothing but shorts and a bra,” the lawsuit states.

Dr. Foley indicated that the legality was up in the air but that students who mentally identify themselves with the opposite sex could choose the locker room and bathroom to use, and physical sex did not matter,” the lawsuit states.

The teenage boy asked the assistant principal if there was anything that could be done to protect him from the situation.

“Dr. Foley told Joel Doe to ‘tolerate’ it and to make it as ‘natural’ as he possibly can,” the lawsuit states.

As the boy got up to leave the office, the assistant principal allegedly told the youngster to again “be as natural as possible.”

Even more disturbing, parents were not told of the school district’s decision to let students of one sex use the locker rooms and bathrooms of students of the opposite sex.
The lawsuit alleges that Foley told the boy’s parents their son could use the nurse’s office to change – if he had a problem changing in front of girls.
Supt. Richard Faidley suggested if “Joel Doe was uncomfortable changing with those of the opposite sex, or with using the nurse’s office, then he could just withdraw from school and be home schooled.

Just unbelievable. SMH...and the way the school is supporting it.

In a perfect world , there shouldn't be any hang ups with nudity. And the U.S. seems to have more issues with it then the rest of the world. The reality of it is, this isn't a perfect world and the schools policy is completely absurd. Sure, every teenager would love to be naked with the opposite sex, in their fantasies or if they are older teens in private. Forcing them to be together in a locker room is just not cool. School at that age is tough enough, not being dressed right , the cool haircut, etc. can cause a lot of issues, this just opens that up to even more chances of ridicule.

This is just stupid on the schools part and they are actually opening themselves up to lawsuits.

Forcing teens together naked is not a good idea.
What teen boy doesn't get excited looking at a naked or even half naked teen girl? Does this mean they are showering together too?
What happens when one bold boy wiggles his willy at this girl that thinks she is a boy? A sexual harassment LAWSUIT !

What if the boys single out this girl and start snapping her with towels and the testosterone fueled urges take over and they start touching her? LAWSUIT !

What if the boys start talking about girls like boys do in locker rooms and she feels threatened or uncomfortable? LAWSUIT !

How can the girls parents be OK with this?

In our overly-litigious society it seems insane that teens of any gender are still expected to disrobe in front of each other. Seems best to just create private changing facilities so anyone regardless of gender can have a little privacy.

As an aside, when I attended high school in the late 80's we girls would line up to use the toilet stalls to undress/dress. Nobody got naked in front of each other.

Not this again. There is more to life than bathrooms, boys, and girls. I agree it's a bad idea and the school district shouldn't allow it. However, parents of teenagers should have taught teenagers self control and responsibility for their actions, should they not? The implication here is that if a teenage boy (or girl) sees a naked person of the opposite sex, they won't be able to control their lustful urges, and they will sexually harass or rape the other student and it's the school's fault. That's complete and utter B.S.

Teenagers have control over their actions. Every good parent teaches their kid not to touch someone else without their permission and if they do, it's on them. If the teenager is going to have sex with another, they're going to do it with or without the assistance of a locker room.

BTW, some teenagers are gay, and being naked in the locker room with persons of the same sex is exactly the same for them as heterosexual teenagers being together. Also, just because you're naked in the locker room with someone doesn't mean the person will be attractive to you. Teens are the same way. Anyone who has been out on a beach and seen people in skimpy swimsuits knows this.

If you born with an innie you are a girl. If you are born with an outtie you are a boy. Outties dress/undress in the boys locker room and innies dress/undress in the girls locker room. It really is that black and white to me. If you want to be a transgender by all means go for it but don't try to force the majority of us to live by your rules. You need to fit into our world.

You're about to see a fairly massive upsurge of homeschooling in this country. Parents are sick and tired of having crap like this crammed down their kids throats "because political correctness."
