-87,000 per domestic outmigration from Los Angeles metro and -89,000 from Chicago metro just in one year. (wages, illegal)

I guess the new economic tonic according to Los Angeles and Chicago is to have native-born Americans moving out in droves and lots and lots of international immigration and births.
I have no opinion, but it seems like that is magic formula that Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City want these days.
New York City metro had a domestic outmigration of just 199,000 people in one year, it only gained because of international migration and child births.
Looks like based on the numbers Americans are rushing out of Los Angeles with all that equity and swarming into Las Vegas and Phoenix with the extremely low taxes, freedom and libertarian and conservative mentality.
Is this yet another California bashing thread, trying to hype up low-wage areas with sweltering temperatures as amazing? Are you a realtor?
Yeah but those sweltering cities have better politics and offer a better quality of life for the middle class than the high cost, high tax, high stress liberal cities.

You know what would reduce the demand? CA should close it's borders. No international investment. No domestic investment. Reject all newcomers immigrants whether domestic or international. Everyone who owns more than 1 house must sell it.

The third world is also low cost, low tax and conservative. Funny how that works.

Sounds like the South ... I will take Long Island taxes any day of the week. We have 4 different seasons too!
BTW: this population migration is going to eventually turn many solidly Republican states into swing states, and in some cases outright Democratic states.
I understand the point about illegal immigration and a declining middle class and the exploding underclass in many of those places named but not all growth is great if the problems of big cities come with it. I lived in las vegas for two years playing poker and its actually got a huge gang problem and alot more crime, the homicide rate was up 100% from 2015-2016. Tourists just dont see all the problems.
Growth is not good in itself unless it comes with better jobs and smart growth, a place like Florida grows and grows but the wages dont grow with it, it an economy based on sprawl and construction and tons of low paying service jobs. Places like austin, atlanta, research triangle in north carolina, nashville are doing it right with corporate relocations, start ups and a strong stem economy, good universities and good paying jobs, plus warm weather
