That was pretty hilarious.

They've got a Republican president, Republican House and Republican Senate.

But Mr. Art of the Deal Trump blamed the Democrats. Nothing is ever his fault.

Too funny.

Except when it can. When it can be prevented, it should be.

In any case, this wouldn't be ripping off a bandage, a momentary "ouch." It would be an amputation, with no anesthesia to dull the pain, no antibiotics to prevent fatal infection, and no prosthetic limb to enable freedom of movement afterwards.

For crying out loud! How hard is it to start going through a bill page by page and ask is this having the desired effect? Is it helping people and is it reducing cost? If not, come up with something else and keeping tweaking it until it gets better. It's not rocket science. The politicians all just want power. Republican. Democrat. Both parties are disgusting.

You are telling us that the GOP can vote 52 times to repeal Obamacare when they knew Obama would veto it but cannot vote to repeal once now that they have a sure thing? Cowards! WTH were all those other votes about?

It's harder than you think. Try reading a bill sometime and see.

The main complication is our health care system was full of exemptions, subsidies, and pay-backs of all kinds before the ACA was ever begun. When it was written and enacted, none of those many and diverse special interests wanted their piggy bank broken, especially when another's was left intact.

So far too much was incorporated into the law.

You're right; the bottom line for all decisions should be just as you say. But try to find enough politicians with the courage to face the devil or the deep blue sea to make such basic common sense ever actually happen.

It's not a matter of "excited" ..... the Democrats/Chuck Schumer have already said what they would do.

1). Put more people into Medicaid & increase subsidies
2). Bail-Out Insurance Companies
3). Raise the Mandate for the Healthy Kiddies so they PAY for everyone else - garnish their wages.

That's just not going to happen. I guess the only question is - how bad does it have to get before the Voters understand that the Democrats are NOT in charge and Obama is NOT President anymore?

ObamaCare was front loaded with nice bennies and back loaded to implode. Obama kept delaying the implosion, but he can't delay it any more and we now have a LAW that doesn't allow Billion Dollar Bail-Outs to the Insurance Companies.

Time to Move On -- at some point the Voters will understand that they are up a creek with no help or paddle.

I agree they Republicans/President Trump will be "responsible" -- IF they fail to follow the ACA LAW (ObamaCare) exactly as written with ZERO input or votes from the GOP or President Trump.

Work for you???

Why can't the Republican Party get the job done?
They can pass a bill through the House.
President Trump is likely to sign a Health Care Law

BUT ..........

They need 60 Votes in the Senate .... they don't have 60 Votes and Democrats have sworn an OATH to not support any Bill. The reason that the recent Bill was so Convoluted is that it had to be done under the Rules of Budget Re-Conciliation (which is EXACTLY how Reid/Pelosi passed ObamaCare) - certain things could not be touched under Budget Re-Conciliation.

2 possible outcomes:

Vote out enough Democrats in 2018, so Laws can be passed with Regular Order in 2019.
ObamaCare Implodes and the Pitch-Forks are carried to Washington to force the Democrats to work with the GOP. It's a given that ObamaCare (despite the Myths that abound) will continue to implode and real live people are going to be damaged.
I expect the Trump Administration to Follow the ACA Law, as written - which is EXACTLY what they should do - I'm beyond disgusted with CongressCritters, Presidents, Judges, Lawyers who don't follow the LAW.

One way, or another -- the solution remains in the hands of the Voters.
That is exactly how it should be.

So if Obamacare implodes -- are more Americans uncovered than in 2007 -- or just more than in 2016.? Inquiring minds are trying to figure out -- so is the looming disaster worse than what we had before Obamacare - or about the same.....just curious.

The average American cannot even afford the Obamacare deductible. What is the difference between being "insured" and uninsured if you can't pay the deductible?

Bronze
Cost-Sharing Category 2017 Avg. for Individuals 2017 Avg. for Families
Deductible (Medical) $6,092 $12,393
Max Out-of-Pocket Costs $6,904 $13,810

Silver
Cost-Sharing Category 2017 Avg. for Individuals 2017 Avg. for Families
Deductible (Medical) $3,572 $7,474
Max Out-of-Pocket Costs $6,449 $12,952

Gold
Cost-Sharing Category 2017 Avg. for Individuals 2017 Avg. for Families
Deductible (Medical) $1,197 $2,745
Max Out-of-Pocket Costs $4,889 $10,168

Platinum

Deductible (Medical) $405 $809
Max Out-of-Pocket Costs $2,159 $4,318

A recent Bankrate survey found that only 37% of Americans had $500 to $1,000 in savings to cover an unexpected emergency bill.9 Against that fiscal reality, the average bronze plan deductible of $6,092 and silver plan deductible of $3,572 blur the lines between being insured and uninsured.
