2,070 Refugees Arrived in U.S. in March, 54% Drop From February’s 4,579

In a continuing declining trend, 2,070 refugees arrived during March, a 54.79 percent drop from the 4,579 recorded in February, according to State Department Refugee Processing Center data.

...
Of the 2,070 refugees resettled in March, the largest contingents came from Somalia (335), Syria (282), Burma (278), Iraq (192), Democratic Republic of Congo (184), Ukraine (167) and Iran (101).

...
With the fiscal year now halfway through, 39,098 refugees had arrived as of March 31, of whom 30,122 arrived before the end of the Obama administration and 8,967 since Trump’s inauguration.

According to the chart, from 2010 thru the end of the Obama admin, 512.9 million refugees have entered the country.

Trump is quickly decreasing this highly risky endeavor.

given that it takes about 20 years for 1 million to arrive, it would many thousands of years to hit your 500 miilion number.

today we have less than 1% of our total population that is muslim LESS than , and that includes 200 years of muslims arriving, settling, and having kids...

I don't think muslims are ever going to be an issue, but feel free to continue to exercise your legal right to encourage sectarianism, hate and fear. I am sure you feel like a great human being. many of the first europeans arriving here were in fact fleeing sectarianism, but to bigots, that no longer means anything.

The number is obviously a typo.

Anyone who doesn't want tens of thousands of refugees every year is a bigot?

What an intelligent viewpoint. Get ready for more pain in 2018.

Signed,

Any drop off is good. These people should be helped in their homeland and when the fighting is over they can go back to their lives.
What I don't understand is, why don't other countries in the ME take in their fellows instead of making them travel to a country where many don't want them where there is a language plus a huge cultural barrier to them?

It is like taking a fish out of the water and hardly fair to those people. In some cases these fish out of the water are making changes to their new environment and forcing their new hosts to breathe under water.

Another thought. If a calamity like war or natural disaster was to strike the US how many countries in the Middle East would accept hundreds of thousands of Americans ?
