No rational person is against it in theory, the question should be how can the problem be resolved?

How can the government intervene and force employers to give equal pay to men and women who work equal amounts and have the same quality of work, because the question is very situationally dependent. Is the Federal government going to know everyone's pay? So do all men get paid the same and all women get paid that same amount? Do people no longer get paid by quality of work? I've known some lazy men who should not be making as much as other men or their female counterparts, I just don't know how the government can intervene fairly.

I believe the Department of Labor should be able to get involved somehow if someone, a male or female makes a complaint and can make a case that they are underpaid relative to their counterparts. But I could see a lot of abuse and other problems happening, not mentioning I doubt they have the personnel to handle this.

I don't accept the libertarian approach to this, but I am wary of government intervention as well. The problem is whatever the government makes law will be hard to enforce.

If this myth were true, and if women made 77% of what men make, female unemployment would be near zero while employers take advantage of saving 23 cents out of every dollar in payroll costs.
^^^^^^ This.

What people are opposing is the fact that feminists want equal outcome, not equal pay. The idea that women get seventy seven cents for every dollar a man earns come from the amount they make per year. This doesn't take into account other factors that cause this. For example, men tend to choose jobs that are more financially beneficial whereas women tend to choose jobs that are more emotionally satisfying, these jobs don't offer as much money. This isn't because of misogyny or hostility toward women; it's because women are making the choice to take these jobs. Men also work more hours on average than women do and men are also on average more likely to negotiate raises. These make someone earn more money. If you want to make as much money as a man does then you have to do the same amount of work for it.
But no one is comparing different jobs. It's comparing women and men who work the exact same job and make 70% of the wages of a man. We are also talking about hourly wages, not annual or monthly incomes, so overtime isn't really a factor.

So, if I have the same job as you, I should make the same amount as money with a year of experience as you with twenty years experience?

because it's a fallacy to begin with and doesn't exist in the format that it is advertised.

Also women in the workforce in the capacity we see now is destroying the family unit.

Children are being run by day cares. Career is more important to these women.

There is plenty of opportunities in our "pink collar" economy for women.

The men however, see the industries shipped overseas. They are the one's hurting. Which ultimately hurts society as a whole.

Men are built to work and provide whether people choose to see it or not.

We must also solve the wage gap between those just starting out in the job market and those with 20 years or more experience. I say we riot, put forth huge government ideas and be indignant in general to spread the wealth around a little. We must solve this!

Who here is arguing for less pay? The only argument I've seen is that men and women are paid the same for the same work and you should get paid on how much work you do.

It is amazing that this nonsense continues to be debated. If women were paid less than men for doing the same work, no employer in their right mind would hire any men. Yet somehow men still work for a living. Why is that?
