Lots of conspiracy theories are being floated about the Syria situation -- however, on reflection, there is something very fishy about it all:

Assad wouldn't order a gas attack without Putin's approval.

Why did Trump secretly build up US presence in Syria before the gas attack?

Putin did not engage his missile defense system, allowing US cruise missiles to hit the targets.

Syria gas attack and Donald Trump's military response don't add up

Seems both the left and the right are questioning the Syria attack:

Wacky conspiracy theories? Probably. But I have to agree something seems quite fishy about the gas attack, Trump's response and Putin's non-response.

Yup, the "wag the dog" theories are gaining traction. Everything with the Syria operation fell into place a little too conveniently. How gracious of the Russian military bases in Syria to allow US missiles to travel unimpeded. The targets chosen to do relatively little damage to Assad. The whole thing reeks of kabuki theater.

Throughout history when leaders have political problems at home they turn to military engagements to rally the population behind them.

Putin is such a scum that it is completely plausible. He owns Trump who is deeply in debt to Russian oligarchs and the subject of some home movies. The public is catching on, a deflection is needed. The pieces all fit.

I wouldn't doubt it at all. Trump needs something for Americans to take their mind off of all the investigations against trump.

LOL, right on schedule. Seems to take two days for the left wing extremist and official opposition "media" to cobble together their official "talking points" narrative, and a few hours to disseminate it to the faithful who depend on the narrative (no matter how much it defies common sense or the reality) as their only source of "news".

LOL, Happy regurgitation!

I don't think this can be attributed to just Trump while ignoring the fact of a huge political front operating in the interests of those with much more power than the Donald. Trump, like most of the "leaders" of America, is a puppet, an egotistical one one to be sure, but a puppet nonetheless. There is so much money to be gained from the application of American, and Russian hegemony in the middle east, and that fact should raise some suspicion regarding the huge numbers of players involved.

It is a conspiracy in that it is part of an ongoing, not so transparent scheme, to control all the disparate factions in that part of the world. Russia and the US have long been at odds over who will ultimately "win the hearts and minds" of those groups who stand between oil and western foreign policy. I think many in America can't deal with the notion of oil wars--so--they get this, a supposed humanitarian revenge for a gas attack..Yes, the US and others are willing to travel the world to kill for oil, it's so obvious, but, that doesn't fit with the notion of the US wearing the white hat and saving the world..Oh well, get back to the incessant arguing between the Dems and R's, meanwhile--"they"will continue their war.
