I was thinking the same. If I read between the lines of the OP words I heard a Hillary supporter.

The problem is not only the bombing that brings in recruits it is the occupation itself.

There are so many moments in History and movies that have been made about it that we should know by now that no one likes to have their country occupied.

Why are we over there in the ME sending our men and women to die to protect our "allies" to stop terrorists, to ensure the oil keeps flowing?

Imagine if a foreign power invaded America to topple our President and his cabinet... oh wait we already have a Civil War brewing over that... but if say North Korean troops landed in California and started a march on DC the armed public would fight back.

We really can't blame the fighters in the ME for hating America and it should not be a wonder how they are able to refill their ranks with fresh volunteers whenever we kill them.

Bombing certainly sends a message and our technology tells our enemies that there are few places they can hide but it is no way to win a war.

There are atrocities happening to people all over the world yet we choose to spend millions of dollars to blow up some sand in the middle east.

There has to be a better way to fight terrorism.

Same deal with Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Despite all of those we killed and bomed during the Iraq/Afghanistan war to this day they're still around and are basically "LOL why should we care?" and always manage to more than easily find new recruits.

Why has nothing been learned from Vietnam? I wish we just had absolutely nothing to do with that god forsaken part of the world and just focus on what really matters such as giving Americans adequate health insurance and improving our infrastructure and schools and social rights. Instead we focus on bombing people in caves that pose no threat to us. This is precisely why the sooner the patriarchy gets demolished the better the world will be. At least women are capable of coming up with solutions other than "let's just bomb everything and hope it all works out".
Well said. Bush and Cheney invaded Iraq, initiated a war, opened Pandora's Box and out came ISIS.

A lot of those cheering the bombing were not around for Vietnam. Putting the generals in control was a bad idea. Westmoreland's actions and behavior pretty much screwed our country.

Tried it. Doesn't work. Doesn't even begin to work.

Probably the most persistent attempt at all that has been the Attaturk experiment in Turkey, and after 100 years it's still proving a failure. The moment they get the opportunity, the people always vote for Islamic radicals.

Still delusional and proving you learned NOTHING from the last time you started another misandrist thread. Try reading some history, QUEENS have started more wars than Kings. So sorry reality doesn't match your fantasy.
