From Politico - "In the Democratic debate about how to deal with Trump, total obstruction — similar to the Republican approach during Obama’s presidency, with hopes it’ll produce the same results in elections — is winning, and selective, principled compromise is starting to seem like a fever dream, despite anxiety in some quarters that Democrats will be blamed for more gridlock in Washington that voters clearly don’t want"
So, Democrats are going to take a page out of Mitch McConnell's playbook. The only problem is, they don't have anyone with half the smarts and patience of a McConnell. Just having non-stop hissy fits and temper tantrums doesn’t play to middle America. Plus Democrats are seriously out of power across the country and need to seriously rebuild their base, and Tom Perez just told any Democrat who doesn't believe in abortion that they aren't welcome in the party.
Trump hatred and obstructionism might be fun, but it'll only last so long, and then where will the Democrat Party stand? Especially with no obvious leader to coalesce around.
The Republican Party controls all three branches of the federal government.
The only way the Democratic Party can obstruct Donald Trump and the Republican Party is by utilizing the Senate filibuster - and the Republicans in the Senate have already used their nuclear option once to defeat the Democratic filibuster of the confirmation of Neal Gorsuch as a Supreme Court Justice.
I don't care about any of it except that Neil Gorsuch is set on the SCOTUS and hopefully Ginsburg and Breyer will retire in the next 2 years. North Korea does not care who is in the WH but hopefully/likely China will work with Trump more than they would have with Clinton. Trump was not my choice (nor my red state's primary choice) but he is who we have. End of story.

They chased the car of being in control and caught it. Now they just have to figure out what they are going to do with the darned thing because apparently they had not planned on that happening.
