Exactly. Most everyone in his administration is corrupt. Trump's talk about draining the swamp is the epitome of hypocrisy.

And Comey would need to testify that Trump requested that he ignore the law and that Comey ignored it.

I just don't see that testimony occurring.

The funny thing is that if Comey does testify, and the testimony is that Trump didn't ask him to ignore the law, people will once again flip to Comey being a POS.

Hero, POS, hero, POS. It will be the triple Lindy of flip flops.

However, there is the possibility of Comey admitting he essentially committed a crime, but I doubt it. No upside to that.

Not the word of God.
Comey would need to explain if he even actually made a memo, and Trump would also have his side of what was said. Comey doesn't have the best reputation.

You wouldn't think that Comey would be that stupid to document such an activity either.

Well, there is no word of Comey as yet. Just an alleged memo that no one really even knows who wrote it or what it said. You all just keep stretching what you can to try to make Trump look bad. I'll clue you in, it isn't Trump that ends up looking bad when the predictions of the Dems just do nothing other than provide humor for Trump supporters, hey, but thanks for the laughs!

Let's not jump the shark.

If there is such one time will tell.

Your statement says there is one. You don't know that.

Also, Comey simply might not have been done with his investigation. If you're going to go after the POTUS, you'd better have your ducks in a row. And it sounds like the Russia investigation isn't even close to being done.

It could be that simple....

No, Comey will say he added this to his ongoing investigation. Indeed if he made note of it, he's not going to blowup the investigation at that moment without getting all of the relevant information. In fact, that is all he needs to say, that he was in the process of obtaining corroborating information from the already ongoing investigation that would support his report that Trump requested the end the investigation.

Comey is a lawyer, former US attorney, former Deputy Attorney General. He would know what he actions he take. Documenting Trump's actions may be all he needed to do at the time.

IIRC POTUS is NOT above the Law. He has a lot of power and has to make difficult decisions but Trump is an elected President and not a self appointed dictator. At least not yet.

Personal thoughts here: what Trump said (if one is to believe the media) does not sound like a "crime" to me. It didn't sound threatening or pressuring; however, it was highly improper for him to make a remark like that. You just don't. Comey took the notes of the meeting, which included that statement. I don't think anything will come of it unless there is other evidence out there that Trump was using coercion or threats to make anyone in the FBI uncomfortable about doing their job.

So, why wouldn't Comey take it to someone not with the GOP, since you seem to believe only Democrats aren't corrupt? Why not take it directly to congress?

He could have waited around on a tarmac for nearly an hour and then actually report it to someone like Pelosi when her plane landed. He could first talk about yoga and wedding stuff and then present the evidence.

You know that if he testifies that Trump committed this crime, Comey will be asked why he didn't immediately take it to the DOJ. Since the accusation, the POTUS forcing the FBI to stop a criminal investigation of a high ranking official, is extremely serious, what could be the justification for inaction?

The only testimony Comey could make without making it look like he agreed to not pursue Flynn is that Trump did not pressure him; otherwise, it would appear as though he made a deal and backed out only after he was fired.
I see it this way. Trump fired Flynn and Trump said , I fired Flynn , he is gone now, can't you let it go. If he said anything at all?? Which is questionable since now Comey wants to be vindictive and go after Trump after him being fired by Trump. Comey is out for revenge now!! So predictable.

Drain the SWAMP!
