I have the same questions you do
Comey has been asked to testify "asap," so we should know in a week or so.
And Comey will have to either say Trump didn't commit a crime or Trump did and Comey was essentially an accomplice.
No.
Comey wasn't an accomplice because A. he recorded the incident, put it on the record. B. he didn't comply, he didn't drop the investigation of Flynn/Russia, and C. he would say that Trump was in a gray area, where it was yet to be determined if Trump's INTENT was to use the power of his office to force the FBI to drop the investigation, or if Trump's INTENT was to simply defend Flynn. The INTENT is determined by Trump's following actions, when Trump himself cites the Russian investigation as a reason to fire Comey, and then actually fires Comey. The firing itself excludes Comey as an accomplice.
No, Comey will say he added this to his ongoing investigation. Indeed if he made note of it, he's not going to blowup the investigation at that moment without getting all of the relevant information. In fact, that is all he needs to say, that he was in the process of obtaining corroborating information from the already ongoing investigation that would support his report that Trump requested the end the investigation.
Comey is a lawyer, former US attorney, former Deputy Attorney General. He would know what he actions he take. Documenting Trump's actions may be all he needed to do at the time.
If Trump committed such a crime in front of him, it would be an impeachable offense along with a criminal offense. It would be insanity to allow a POTUS to sit for possibly years more while waiting for a Russia investigation that would almost assuredly be circumstantial at best.
You can try to rationalize it that way if you choose, but it will come down to either Trump committing a crime and Comey ignoring it or Trump not committing that crime.

Drain the SWAMP!
And, so Trump-like! IF Trump doesn't understand actions have consequences and that when you hit someone you should well expect them to hit back, he's even dumber than previously thought.
I wonder what makes Donald Trump so important to his loyal followers despite Trump's history of fraud and deception? Why is anyone loyal to this person? Why do they love him?
This is a serious question an may be appropriate for another thread.
No matter what the memo actually says.....it is the word of Comey.
Not the word of God.
And Democrats wouldn't give a plug nickel for the word of Comey until they figured out that they could try to use it against Trump.
Comey ruined his credibility when he stated how guilty Hillary was and did not hand it over to a grand jury and let them decide if Hillary should be charged for obstruction of justice, =deleting evidence while under investigation and lying numerous times to the FBI.
Comey has been asked to testify "asap," so we should know in a week or so.
My bet is a lot of people on this thread will be doing some serious excuse scrambling when Comey testifies Trump didn't order him or pressure him to drop the Flynn investigation.
