Let's start with this. I didn't vote for Trump. I don't like him as a person. He is a liar. He is a jackass. I don't trust him. I was always annoyed seeing his smug face promoting his dumb show.
I did like many of his promises, but I never believed he would really try to accomplish them.
I'd rather have Pence in the WH.
That being said, what is currently happening is horrible for our country. The vicious partisanship where you have millions calling for impeachment due to convincing themselves that at one time he may have gotten loans from Russia and somehow owes Putin is insanity.
Do any of these fools understand that this won't end if Trump is impeached? It is going to devolve into such vindictiveness that I fear we could have a Constitutional crisis and actually see a coup, even a military coup.
I get that people are upset that this clown is in the WH. I get that it's scary to many people; however, it should be even more scary as to what this crazy, I mean insane, divisiveness could very easily lead to.
I think half this country would accept impeachment based on nothing more than resentment without understanding the inherent danger of it.
I just don't think many people see what can happen here and how troubling this is.

Frankly, I'd like Pence and Congress to cut to the chase and take him out citing the 25th. He's mentally unfit.
I don't want drawn out impeachment proceedings. At all.

Well tell the Republican Congress, it the Republicans who have the power to impeach. Yet, I hope Trump stays the full four years. Let an undiluted four years of government by a Hannity, Limbaugh, Fox dream candidate play itself out for real. I want him and Ryan, and McConnell have the floor for the next few years.

Democrats and Liberals are making Putin a very happy man.
Partisanship is nothing new; there was an impeachment attempt on Clinton over lying about an extramarital affair that had nothing to do with governmental policy. Republicans who put up such a roadblock against all Obama judicial appointments Dems were forced to use the nuclear option on federal judges just to make the courts functional again. Republicans shutting down the government for weeks because they didn't want to compromise on a federal budget.

Oh I agree. I don't talk politics with people IRL that often but I've made people angry when they are frothing about the latest scandal or bombshell and I don't agree because I just find it all amusing. Dangerously amusing but still... I'd rather see the humor in absurdity than pretend there's actually something I can do about it.
So what is supposed to happen? There is more in question at this point than just who Trump has borrowed from.
An investigation is underway. The man appointed as Special Counsel is widely respected by people on both sides of the aisle. Let the investigation play out. The people who are demanding Trump's removal without proof are wrong, but so are the people who are unwilling to recognize that there may be wrongdoing, the ones who come on here and say he should suspend Congress and declare martial law (yes, some have.)
I agree that the hostile tone of politics today is troubling. Hell, I just read a post where someone was literally calling for a fight to the death, which is beyond disturbing. But is that a reason to not try to find out the truth of the matter? There is a huge problem here, but it isn't the process.
I don't know if you remember Watergate, but it seems to me that the system served us pretty well then.

I agree with you Pedro, I don't usually, but this time I do.
Things are a real mess, but we can't make a hasty decision here. We have to handle this in some way that will help unify the country. I don't think now is the time for impeachment. I think we are certainly headed there, but I don't think now is it. Trump's popularity, unless things magically turn around which for the good of the country, I hope they do, will likely keep on declining. Trump's base will eventually leave him if many of the things he is being accused of prove to be accurate. At that time, we can impeach and move on. If it doesn't get there, which I really hope it doesn't, we can hopefully coast through 3.5 more years of Trump and move on in 2020.

The House of Representatives approves two articles of impeachment against President Bill Clinton, charging him with lying under oath to a federal grand jury and obstructing justice.
But at this point... what difference does it make?
