Trump very likely will be forced to resign to escape impeachment proceedings or to escape political pressures:
If he resigns (and I think he might) he will make the claim that he accomplished what he went to Washington to do and would retire of his own accord, and he will always claim that he could have won reelection by huuge margins if he had wanted to.
He needs some kind of big victory, his own Antietam, to make such an exit strategy plausible. But he doesn't want to be seen as a failure.
Trump very likely will be forced to resign to escape impeachment proceedings or to escape political pressures:
!) for committing Obstruction of Justice by trying to influence FBI Director Comey by asking Comey to drop the investigation of former National Security Head Flynn, by asking Comey for a loyalty pledge, by then firing Comey when Comey would not comply.
2) for lying about a wide variety of things
3) for giving classified information to the Russians visiting him in the White House's Oval Office
4) for telling the Russian ambassador & other Russian visiting in the Oval Office that he fired Comey to get rid of the pressure of the Russia investigations which is Obstruction of Justice in trying to impede an official investigation by the FBI and Dept of Justice.
5) for collusion with the Russians - in a number of ways - helping Russians influence our Presidential election, by telling Russia ahead of election that sanctions against them will be lifted if Trump is elected, by having nefarious and unethical personal business deals involving illegalities with Russia.
6) for illegal money laundering of millions and millions given to Trump by Russians in shady business deals
The speculation and emotions, is revealing.
It is going to be a tough 8 years of being let down time and time again.
They protested GW. Bush for 8 years. What was that crazy ladies name, that blamed Bush for her sons death in Iraq. Shelia? Shannon??
The investigations will be ongoing and Trump is going to be extremely frustrated with a cloud hanging over the admin, people being questioned, etc.
I think he will simply explode with the pressure of not being in control and will screw himself royally with more lies and middle of the night twitterstorms. He has no self-control whatsoever. He just doesn't have it in him to deal with this.
Investigation could take years and it will indeed be a cloud over his head.
Most of the wounds are self- inflicted. Thus far he has not demonstrated an ability to control himself.
The impeachment thing is nothing but political theatre.
Russia is not and has never been an ally. The only people that count them as allies are Trump and his inner circle. Fools.
Follow the money! He will resign under more and more BS. Every night its something different he has said or done. Its too much BS that this country doesn't need at this time. Dealing with a large ego never ends well.
At this point in Obama's presidency most of you thought he was faking being born in the US.
There is no doubt that there was right-wing hysteria regarding Obama. But, what a lot of people fail to see, is that the same type of hysteria is being whipped-up against Trump, for the same reasons, and will have the same results. Nothing but stupidity.
The people who want to believe Trump is going to be impeached, are going to believe it. And they believe everything these anonymous sources say, even without a shred of evidence.
No serious person actually believes Trump is going to be impeached. No serious person thinks Trump is being handed orders by Putin.
