Religious wars have persisted through thousands of years, and to much greater degree against nation states. Terrorism is a modern description to tone down the risk of offending any particular creed. The world is trying to change an ideology that has survived for centuries, that isn't going to happen overnight and for those who benefit from fear and power, they won't easily concede. Certainly the tools of war have become more sophisticated and strategic and violent on both sides, in this war the enemy has suffered greater losses than we have. Is it really worse, or are their attacks just much higher profile largely due to media coverage. If you think we've accomplished absolutely nothing for our strategy, what is your solution?
