And what the heck has Merkel done to deserve anyones respect? Name one thing. You seem to be extremely happy that she allows Jihadi terrorists and rapefugees into her country to rape and kill the citizens she swore to protect. She openly threatens other countries in the EU who wont allow this travesty to happen in their countries. And she is more worried about Trump?
Merkel doesn't need or want your respect. The only respect she needs is the respect of the German people, which she has in obvious abundance. Your respect isn't worth her bothering with.
Again, don't like Merkel or any other German leader, petition your representatives to get US Troops out of Germany where they have no business being anyway.
European leaders aren't elected to make Americans happy.
By some accounts, Germany has the best intelligence apparatus in Europe. German intelligence helped us identify the 9/11 attackers. They've no doubt helped us identify other potential terrorist threats.
Bottom line, for American security and safety, it's in our interest to maintain good working relationships with Germany and other European countries.
It would have been far better if the attackers were identified when live, before the attacks. Identification of dead people after a suicide attack has little real value. Goes with candlelight vigils.
She's right, America can't be counted on to go along with the globalist agenda under Trump. Worry about your countries problems before lecturing us Merkle.
Recently, the U.S. decided it would honor a small deal with Australia to take a limited number of refugees. See US 'will honour' refugee deal with Australia that Trump called 'dumb'. I suspect that Merkel had extracted a similar though much larger commitment from Obama with regard to the 1,000,000 refugees she agreed on behalf of Germany to accept. With such a deal and the Paris Climate Accords more or less out the window Merkel and other European leaders have a problem; the U.S. won't rescue them from their bighearted generosity.
I admit this is speculation but I'd be willing to bet the price of a dinner at another poster's favorite New York City or Westchester restaurant I'm right.
Big time Trump supporters watch Trump go and make peace with Germany and NATO. He may do it quietly, but he will iniate recontact and recant. So all the arguments made by his supporters will be reduced to nothing. Trump's advisors will show him the reality, which is we need our NATO allies and that it's a bargain not a expense to support the alliance even if we spend more then they do. You'll see.
Just 4 years ago Hillary Clinton said, “Russia has been an ally.†Hillary also said that Russia no longer posed the threat it did in the 20th century. Putin must have been laughing his butt off at Obama and Hillary just as he laughing at liberals and Democrats now.

Trump refused to shake the Chancellor's hand, harangued her country's policies in a speech, called Germany "very bad", and threatened to end German car sales in the US.
His lack of respect for our long-standing ally is disgraceful.
That's because he's ignorant - of history, of why the allies are valued, of the value of our bases in Europe, etc., etc., etc. Can't expect much from a mental lightweight.

If Germany won't realize we are the larger member in our relationship and We demand respect from them, not the other way around, if they don't want to realize that then maybe they should see what it's like without tax payer money.

Started when he was running for office, his big mouth overran his small brain as usual.
