We are slow to change. Laws and Policy that was written decades ago are still in use but the world has change and they aren't amended or revoked to fit modern times.

People get elected to Congress and get lazy being removed from the reality of regular life for so long. Congress terms are long so a two or at most three term limit should be made law.

Holding legislators and our police accountable for their abuse of power. Look at all the states that are facing Government shutdown yet they are all still getting paid.

The DNC stole the nomination from Sanders. The people surely wasn't gonna elect Hillary.

Hillary couldn't even win her own partys nomination without the DNC cheating for her.

She was never gonna win. Too much baggage, scandals, and caught lying too many times. Nobody believed a word she said, not even her own party. They set her up against what they believed was the absolute worst republican candidate they could...she still lost. I mean if President Trump is as bad as Dems seem to think then what does that say about Hillary losing against him? She lost ground in every group I think, even minority ones.

What the hell happened?
I think there is a large majority of this country that can agree on just about anything that matters, or come very close to it.

What has happened is that people running both parties care more about their wealth and getting reelected than doing whats best for most of us. All of the power brokers in the RNC and DNC are absolutely corrupt. They have sold their souls to various interest groups. The DNC tells its people they will do this or that for the environment, or for this or that group but these are just words to get elected. Same for the RNC.

People are fed up with it. I think the biggest division is between the Political elites and the avg joe.

Step back and look...what did Obama do differently than Bush? Not much...pandered to a few environmental and open border groups but nothing really long term that matters. The important stuff remained the same. Wars in places we have no business in and stoking hate and discontent between Americans that would otherwise band together and toss them all out.

You are right about that.
Populism is one part of it for sure.
The democrats will rely on it at some point too, if they ever get serious about winning national elections again. Little evidence now to suggest they are serious and time is not on their side for 2018.
They hung themselves with the Postmodernism rope and can't stop choking.

The "citizen/subjects" simply reflect the foundation of their "society". If the foundation is that it is just to use aggression, violence, duress, involuntary slavery as a means of "achieving" all things, what can that "society" actual produce other than psychopaths, thugs, and tyrants?
Yep. The unequal treatment of people begets a lot of resentment of and towards each other. Roughly half of all tax filers pay no federal income tax whatsoever while others are forced by threat of imprisonment to pay 28%. Some people go to prison for violating federal law while illegal aliens are allowed to violate federal law at will, and flaunt it. I could go on and on...

Your empty one-liners are getting tiresome. An easy cop-out when one has no motivation to look into the deeper meaning of complex issues.

Donald Trump is the resurrection of Americanism. He is the rebirth of America.

Barack Obama was the epitome of Anti-Americanism and a "progressive" icon. Hopefully, that is dead and gone for all time. Sanders, Hillary and Bill are Marxist-socialists ("progressives"). These people have no use for our Constitution (though they will hold it up when convenient). "Progressives" believe the Constitution is an outdated document (contract) that has outlived it's usefulness. That's because they have never believed in it's tenets. "Progressives" don't believe in individualism. They are collectivists. They are "globalists." They believe so-called "experts" (who know better) should be in charge of everything, and making the policies that affect you and me. They believe our system of government is inefficient and unworkable in the "modern era." They do not believe in "inherent" (natural) rights.

And you believe in individualism so much so that you're willing to speak on behalf of progressives?

I've always found that ironic about so called individualists, who seem to want to want to deny those who disagree with them the ability to self identify.

If I may, a reference from Wikipedia:

Henny Penny, more commonly known in the United States as Chicken Little and sometimes as Chicken Licken, is a folk tale with a moral in the form of a cumulative tale about a chicken who believes the world is coming to an end. The phrase "The sky is falling!" features prominently in the story, and has passed into the English language as a common idiom indicating a hysterical or mistaken belief that disaster is imminent. Versions of the story go back more than 25 centuries;[1

Mass anxiety has been a part of life for hundreds if not thousands of years, we will survive in spite of our differences and in spite of our current political influences. I am not a seer, I am a student of history, and we are still here after global wars and powerful despots. The only difference today is that the flow of information is in real time and constant, it's causing too many people to react at every report. The world is changing, that causes fear in some, optimism in others, change is the only certainty. So take a step back and look at the world through a historical perspective, we are not doing bad.

My vote is for corruption and greed. I've been of the opinion that presidents were nothing more than puppets for big business. Now we have big business in the presidency. Talk about jumping out of the pan into the fire. Having money and power is a huge responsibility that very few have the moral compass to handle. Chicago has it's machine politics that has been in place for decades. Our state is a mess with 4 out of the previous 7 governors in jail. It's a white collar mafia. Part of the problem is the ignorance of the people that keep voting them in. Uninformed emotional thinkers that vote based on rhetoric are a dangerous breed.
