This is just my perspective. The corporate elite are certainly no friends to the common man. However, I look at American history. I see this. Division and being torn apart has been business as usual. It goes back to the very first days of America. The Civil War is living proof. Some like to blame the elites and planter class for the Civil War. The truth is, the elites and planter class did not have to do all that much to get poor people whipped up in a frenzy. There were many who supported the institution of slavery who were too poor to own slaves.
Racism and bigotry do make it very difficult to keep a nation united. And that is something that has always existed in America. The elites don't have to try very hard to tear us all apart. Only use what is always there.
