U.S. judge narrows travel ban in defeat for Trump | Reuters

Essentially, the court held that the relationship between a refugee and the resettlement agency was 'bona fide' and thus exempt from the Ban.

Good for Hawaii!

The grandparent thing in the Muslim ban was bizarre. Step families yes but grandparents no?

It looks more like it was modified by interpretation, not struck down
. Another issue for SCOTUS when they take up the case in the fall.

I wonder what roll the State Dept. plays in this.

Interesting ...... I guess this Judge in Hawaii is in charge of all VISAS and paperwork at the US State Department and Homeland Security. Learn something new every day.

Why should all these far relationships be included. What about the burden for the US of letting elderly people who don't speak the language and are more costly to our society! Let them be helped in neighboring countries where they speak the same language.

Well that's where the federal in federal judge comes into play and that whole legal precedence thing too.
The sc court made it clear that they expect this to be a moot point by that time the case comes up on the docket. Remember the argument is a temporary restriction until vetting process is overhauled so the clock is been ticking on that end.
