Good lord. Algebra is what, 9th grade math? If you couldn't pass in high school like everyone else, and can't even pass a do-over in community college...perhaps "do you want fries with that" should be your career path.

Perhaps they should look at the schools whose students are ill-prepared and figure out what the cause is, instead of trying to look for a fix that isn't going to help their students in the long run.

Michigan dropped the algebra requirement last year.

Many states are considering similar actions, especially for non- STEM majors.

Maybe it shouldn't be required to obtain a credential at a community college, but it does have value.
I wonder if degrees in "African American studies" and "Transgender" studies require any kind of skill?
