I can't believe I party agree with you but there is apparently some truth to that. LBJ had a lot to gain and JFK hated him. The feeling was mutual. It wasn't 100% LBJ though, he knew about it and probably was in on it.

And a couple of completely-alienated women tried to kill Gerald Ford.
And an overgrown spoiled child tried to kill Ronald Reagan.
I can't offer a cure for it, but it's obvious that our media-centric society allows the alienation within lone nuts to fester and grow.
And you cannot disarm, declaw and castrate a society built upon rebellion via gun control and the like.
it/s a brave new world, and the only thing we can be thankful for is that back in November. most of us did not see the surrender pf more of our rights to Big Brother/Sister as the solution.
