The majority of Americans, who now see what their lives would be like if Obamacare were repealed, want it either fixed so it works for everyone or go single payer. The genie has been let out of the bottle and can't be put back in.

During the campaign, Trump promised us a healthcare plan that would not only cover everyone but be cheaper and paid for by the government. Where is this plan of his? This promise carried him over the finish line on election night. I knew when he said it he had no intention of keeping it. A lot of people who voted for him had no idea that this wonderful plan of his would in reality be a push to kick them off their health insurance.

It would be paid for like every other public service is paid for: taxes.

Next question.

Are you volunteering to pay those taxes? What if the taxes turned out to be sales or gasoline taxes? Would you applaud?

While no one likes more taxes, there is no free lunch. Everything we ask our government to supply for us, from roads to protection to services, comes with a price tag, and that is paid for by taxes.

However, is is not fair that someone making $20,000 a year pays a lot more taxes than someone making $20,000,000.00. What Trump wants to do is give YUGE tax breaks to the richest because "they are the ones who stimulate business and create wealth". That is pure BS.

A REPUBLICAN Senator introduced a bill to replace Obamacare with 'single payer'. It was a ruse to get Democrats on record for their vote. Democrats voted 'present'.

The 'Skinny Bill' is currently being debated, each side gets about an hour. Vote on the bill is expected around midnight or shortly thereafter.

Republicans have asked the leadership in the House, not to bring the skinny bill up for a vote in the House if it passes the Senate, as they do not want it to become law, but rather have the House Conference with the Senate if the bill passes.

In a modern nation it takes a mixture of both... Unless you have proof otherwise.

Back to the topic, these senators voted throughout the Obama years to repeal the ACA. I guess their votes were pandering "show"votes never meant to have any impact. When they got a President that would sign repeal they duck, run and hide. Ted Cruz did a series of videos I can't find on "show votes" where members vote for something when the vote will have no impact and melt away when it will.
