kaepernick knelt to protest police brutality. It was people like the OP that made it about "the troops". It's strawmanning on steroids.

I'm sure many of them have rules about political displays while in uniform.

And perhaps they aren't offended because the protest was never about them. Nice try.

To be fair the NFL has specific rules about conduct during the anthem as well.

If I remember correctly, people felt that way before Trump was even elected into office when Kaepernick started this whole thing.

"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. "To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder."

Maybe this veteran who explained to Bennet what the flag represents could teach him what it means also. Which he said it beautifully.

"Could anyone, and I wish that they were here, tell us of any other symbol that we know of that represents all of America. And it's the flag. It represents all races, all religions, everybody that we all fought and some of our very close friends died for," said Dave Cable, 76, another former Navy Intruder pilot.

He explained what the colors of the flag mean, something he says he also conveyed to Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin.

"Red stands for valor and the blood that was shed for our country," Cable said.

"But most important on here is the white stripe that very few people maybe understand," he continued. "The white stands for the purity of our purpose. Think about that. The purity of our purpose. We're never going to be perfect, but our objectives are always pure."

The blue stands for liberty and justice, Cable said.
It goes on. It's really a great article. Veterans talk about emotional roadside chat with Seahawks player over protests | KING5.com

Any soldier's kneeling what?

(Or do you just not understand the difference between the plural and the possessive?)

Anyway, not sure how it's relevant. People can choose not to kneel, just as they can choose to.

kneel is okay. The official rule has no rule about it. The operations manual suggests they should stand. The NFL has stated that kneeling is okay. You're post is factually wrong.
