More information here.

The Alt Left should be happy because they are always crying for immigration reform. Be careful what you wish for!

Until that survey is taken then it's just your biased opinion. The point is since we do have our own poor and needy (is that what you call trash?) why import more? Keep in mind also that there are far more native born American citizens than there are immigrants so it's an unfair assumption and comparison.

Lightbulb White Houses wants merit based immigration system

On the face of it, limiting immigration to those who have needed skills makes sense.

Opening the gates to refugees of all sorts and waves of potentially hostile slugs is irrational. The USA isn't a dumping ground for the cast-offs of the Old World.

Default Trump, GOP senators to introduce bill to slash legal immigration levels

Looks like the bill would cut legal immigration to half, and also slash temporary workers. No wonder Trump already applied for the temp permits for his own businesses. Screw the others.....

Trump, GOP senators to introduce bill to slash legal immigration levels

Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.) and David Perdue (Ga.) have been working with the Trump administration to refine a bill they first introduced in February that aims to cut immigration by half from the current level of more than 1 million green cards per year granting foreigners permanent legal residence in the United States. The revised legislation also is expected to put stricter limits on temporary work visas for lower skilled immigrants.

Not sure how accurate she was. She used this argument as to why a border wall won't work.

Actually no, 60% are illegal entrants and only 40% are visa over stayers. So since a wall doesn't address the latter but it does address the former no use building the wall for the former which is the larger number of illegal aliens? WTH? Visa over stayers will just have to be a addressed in a different way.

Immediate family... Husband/wife/children

Not 3 generations, including aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

This merit based system is a great concept and long overdue.

My grandparents' generation came here in the early 1900's from Europe, and it was not easy. They had skills, a strong work ethic, somehow made it through on their own merits......contributed to the economy and subsequently were rewarded with the American dream because of their hard work. They were also faced with a lot of adversity coming from Italy at the time and viewed as being different. However, overtime that diminished and they adapted to the different customs in America while still celebrating their birth culture at holidays, through types of food and family traditions. They loved becoming American and always cherished that feeling.

Merit Based is a good system that puts America first and restores the bond between government and the citizens. It is "MAGA" and makes America more competitive in the world.

Forced diversity when you are still pushing affirmative action policies is criminal, pure and simple.

Enough divsersity for the sake of a slogan. From now on, make immigrants state up front what they are brining to the table.
Actually I think you are very wrong. Pygmies of the Congo have an average IQ of 65 and they can add a lot to democrat-controlled cities all around the nation.

Democracy needs this kind of diversity
