In the Berkeley riots, a guy was bleeding badly after being hit over the head with a bike lock. And after those riots, antifa was discussing wearing some of protective headgear, because their black hoodies offered them no protection, while many on the opposing side were wearing bike and motorcycle helmets, among other things.
I wouldn't go to one of these things unless I could protect myself.
You don't need head gear, shields for peaceful protest. These guys were not planning for peaceful. You wanna incite violence with white nationals and wear head gear? Makes sense they want to protect the only remaining brain cell they have left.
By talking about violence on many sides and then pivoting to how well the economy is doing he in effect has granted moral equivalency to hate groups that came to a rally to maim and kill vs those who were there to protest hatred.
Sad day for this President and our Country. Trump is now the President of the KKK, White Supremacists, David Duke, Richard Spencer and the ALT Right, while giving the middle finger to the rest of us who oppose these hateful people and organizations.
The white nationalist started this whole thing last night with their illegal torch march and then continued with it today even after they were told their march was cancelled.
But why can't trump denounce the alt-right/KKK/nazi/white nationalist?

Then of course Trump's connection to his contacts ( Bot's/Russian propagandists online .. and YEs even here ) BLM has been peaceful.. BUT ALT-Right types infiltrate and CAUSE VIOLENCE in order to get Peaceful demonstrations DEMONIZED!!
Look what happened last night.. The Racist "Nationalists" hounded carrying torches ( LOL thought I recall "Pitchforks/ wait that was for witches.. SORRY) outside of the CHURCH where they prayed for strength... hardly any overt demonstration???? The only violent one's was those Nationalists!! Hardly, those PRAYING inside a CHURCH!!!
Freedom of speech is being used and abused by these RADIAL EXTREMIST ALT_RIGHT Racists... The difference is that par USUAL.. Extremists ALWAYS take it TOO FAR!!

And the sad thing is, we have many in this society who are very ignorant and bigoted. It's nothing new. Those Nazis in Charlottesville,VA are a manifestation of what has always been there.
