Post 1965 immigration brought people from more countries but it was never a homogeneous one-culture nation in my opinion.

There were far less collectively of them than Euro-whites prior to 1965. We have always had a main identifying culture with some minority cultures living among us but we were never multi-cultural per se.

You never heard of the 1964 Civil rights act and all the laws that sprung from it? You never heard of illegal immigration and immigration imposing people into American neighborhoods? Just try not to associate with them and you'll have all kinds of judicial and extra-judicial force coming down.
