This family is apparently not into "America first," as they are more into the "Trump Family First."

I bet you if you asked whether they'd rather only work 40 hours a week for $80k or the current situation, I bet I'd know which they would choose.
Personally, I'd do POTUS protection for 4 years, put a ton of money in the bank and then transfer off that detail.
Of course they want all the overtime and end up at $275k per year. Sorry, but they CHOSE to take a job that caps them at $160,300. If they don't like it, transfer off protective detail. I'd bet there are lots of $80k SS agents that would jump at the chance of doubling their salary for a few years.
Sorry, I just won't shed any tears for anyone who CHOSE a job with such restrictions that are making $169,300 a year.
And anyone who is expected to work essentially four months worth of uncompensated overtime every year may very well CHOOSE to quit. That's a lot of hours. There is such a thing as quality of life. And $160k is not a fortune, especially in Washington D.C.
It blows my mind that the Secret Service is reaching salary caps like this is some NBA team. It's only 8 months in and we are already hitting CAPS? Did SS agents resign, forcing a do more with less mindset. I thought law enforcement loved Trump with how he was preaching a few months back, you'd think people would be working for free gladly. What is really going on? Too many vacations? He's only 8 months in. I thought he said he just wants to stay in the WH and work his a$$ off.

The POTUS should have a fixed travel budget that can't be surpassed unless during a war declared by congress.
WE AS A NATION should have exactly the same <bold>. Congress should ALSO be held to a travel budget AND have to pay for all those useless junkets and "fact finding" trips to exotic places. Congress should have to stay in the same places as any mid level manager AND fly coach unless they have enough air miles to upgrade or want to pay for upgrades themselves.
ALL government employees and officials should get the same per diem for food and such as any mid level manager gets. My company was quite generous @ $30 per day for food. A system wide contract should be made with a couple of hotel chains like Holiday Inn or La Quinta and those are the ONLY hotels that can be used unless they pay out of their own pockets...
The Donald spends like every weekend at Mar-a-Lago and has on average golfed EVERY FIFTH DAY!
YES, he IS taking a lot of vacations, which he criticized Obama for and swore he WOULDN'T DO. He is a LIAR. And he is costing taxpayers far more per day/week/month than Obama did.

The course he plays is only 9 holes and he can probably play it in 2 hours to 2 1/2 hours.

I am in favor of providing security for presidential families provided it is within reason. Extensive travel both within and outside the US is however outside those bounds. Especially when the family is working overtime to financially capitalize on their ties. The trumps are now making millions while the US government is spending millions to protect them in their pursuit of this. That is wrong. Some restrictions must be put in place as to how much protection should cost. It should not be unlimited.
