The 27-year-old Swede - real name Felix Kjellberg - could be heard using the racial slur while he was playing a video game during a live streaming.
After using the term he appeared to recognise his error, saying: "I don't mean that in a bad way."
PewDiePie, who has more than 57 million subscribers, previously had to defend himself over anti-Semitism allegations.
On another occasion, he was suspended from Twitter for so-called Islamic State jokes.
Honestly, I think this whole thing is ridiculous. For one, he wasn't directing it as a racial slur towards anyone, just said it out of frustration much as people say any curse word given the context. Secondly, black people constantly promote it and say it like it's an awesome thing; in their music, daily language etc. you don't hear hispanic people constantly singing or calling themselves the s word, nor do you see asians doing the same with the c word. The "n word" is used in many ways other than to insult blacks so getting upset over this is ridiculous.
I do not use the n-word, nor do I want to hear any other white person use it. As to whether or not it's okay for black people to use it, I feel that's a discussion for black people to have amongst themselves. I know some who use it, and some who don't, and I don't think it's appropriate for me to appoint myself their judge either way.

I'm black. I don't use the n-word. I'd prefer nobody use the n-word, but it's a free country/world.
This guy isn't in any trouble for it, saying the n-word won't land him in jail. However, many of his subscribers are disappointed by his use of the word. So what's the big problem here?
What is more troubling about this entire situation is that the OP (and many like him/her) are so quick to jump to the defense of his using of the n-word and throw every excuse they have out there as to why he shouldn't be scolded for it. As a person that plays video games professionally, I'm sure a large chunk of his 57 MILLION subscribers are kids. Their idol using the n-word is not exactly something you'd want your children to be exposed to.
And just to further drive my point home and derail this thread, if (or when, I'm sure it's happened before) a black man ever called a white man "cracker" or any other racial slur towards whites, many on the right would be "outraged" by it. Right wing twitter would be exploding with retweets about it. And I'm quite confident that every single C-D poster who is honest would agree with me on that.

I figure Pew Die Pie's audience will either quit following him or not and since I'm not part of his audience and he committed no actual crime, I'm rather "meh" about it.
He has a habit of saying and doing stupid crap and I've always written that off to him becoming famous and wealthy very young for doing nothing at all, really.

Why is this even news? The n word isn't even a term to describe blacks. The n word means an ignorant person. Pewdiepie didn't even say it in a racial way whatsoever. But more like white people trying to be offended for us black people again.
Here's some news...using the N word is totally legal and okay. It depends on how it's used. If he was talking to a black guy and said it, okay, you have a case. But come on, the word is not off-limits to ever be used. Who even dictated that?
