Sander's plan isn't radical at all. Single payer or Medicare for all is nothing more than public insurance, the actual healthcare is delivered by private doctors and hospitals.
The National Health Service of the UK is much more radical, where government not only pays for your care but also directly employs the doctors and nurses and owns all the hospitals.
Who knew the UK our closest, greatest ally in the world is a commie socialist country! The horror!
The only ones who would stand to lose big by Medicare for all would be the for-profit insurance industry, so yeah it's really not that radical of an idea. Medicare part B is not free for 65+ people either. They pay around $134/mo for it which is very reasonable by today's standards and is accepted almost everywhere.

The CBO is basically a calculator. You put numbers in... you get numbers out. So it depends on what numbers are given to calculate. The dynamics of how people will react is not in play.
Posted prices should not be unrealistic. As noted, you do not care when faced with an emergency but they should still be posted.
Emergencies are very difficult to price from the get go.
Chest pain, abdominal pain, auto accident - how many on either the consumer/patient or provider side know the diagnosis and subsequent management from the start?
That being said, hospitals will tend to post the outrageous prices as they use these as a bargaining lever. Both with individuals and third parties.
All of you people touting single payer were promoting ObamaCare as well... and that failed and needs to be changed.... and you want to give the people running ObamaCare more responsibility. Insanity.

Bernie came out with his proposal yesterday. It's not medicare. No out of pocket for anything and everything is covered including dental and vision. But he hasn't come out with his funding proposal yet.
As anything else, taxes, means tested premiums, copays, deductibles and Federal deficit spending.

Not true. In part it is also why Hillary lost. Sanders was pushing single pay while Hillary was still backing Obamacare. Millions refused to back Hillary over this.

Even if it cost nothing, I know I would only go if I had either a 6 month check-up or an emergency. Going to the doctor, who usually keeps bankers hours is a real PITA if you have a job and regular life
