While speaking in Australia's Parliament against initiatives to legalize gay "marriage," Millie Fontana, a donor-conceived child of lesbian parents, said it is a "misconception" that all children reared by gays are "stable and happy," and added there was not a moment in her childhood she "did not crave that male stability and that father in my life."
When, at age 11, she finally met her father, it was "one of the happiest days of my life," she said, because she saw her "heritage" and her "other family" -- uncles, aunts, grandparents.
Fontana further said the push for "marriage equality" in Australia does not mean equality for children, but solely "equality for adults."
Not that many of you want to hear it, but God knew what He was doing when He designed us.
She is not the first one to make these claims. Read the entire testimony from someone who has lived this.

She is still only one example, thus the very epitome of anecdotal evidence. Overall stats don't bear out her theory; most kids raised by same-sex couples are no different from all other kids (i.e., some do well, some don't).

She's seems like a very bitter, hateful person. We could dig up tons of such people, raised by both straight and gay couples.
What's wrong, did her parents make her do her homework or something? or maybe she just had crappy parents.

The general rule is that those who would teach by anecdotes generally do it because broad data does not support their position.

Anecdotes? This is first hand testimony.

Maybe the environment made her bitter...
Ponderosa mentioned fatherless households. All who grow up without a father are missing that influence. It's not good in single parent households or same sex female households.
There are undoubtedly many examples of a gay household being better than married or single parent households (alcoholism, drug use, abuse,etc.). But all other things being equal, a household with a mother and a father is still superior to one with gay parents as far as raising kids is concerned. Just as all things being equal a mother and father is better than a single parent.
Yet there are many single parents raising children because, usually fathers, took off leaving the remaining parent. Would a single parent, struggling to work and provide care for their children be preferable to two adults of the same sex? Because there are far far far more single parents out there.

cool story bro here is a much much bigger one
I provide the WORLD'S LARGEST STUDY on children of gay parents...
Quote:
Conducted by University of Melbourne researchers, the survey followed 315 same-sex couples, mostly lesbians, and their 500 children, using a variety of standardized measures to compare their health and well-being to the general Australian population. "We found that children from same-sex families scored, on average, 6 percent better on two key measures, general health and family cohesion, even when controlling for a number sociodemographic
"The census data show that having parents who are the same gender is not in itself any disadvantage to children," he said. "Parents' income and education are the biggest indicators of a child's success. Family structure is a minor determinant."
"Sample size is power," Rosenfeld said. "And the census is the biggest sample we have. This study is based on a sample of thousands and thousands of kids."
Overview: We identified 79 scholarly studies that met our criteria for adding to knowledge about the wellbeing of children with gay or lesbian parents. Of those studies, 75 concluded that children of gay or lesbian parents fare no worse than other children.
Wonder how many would be okay with two men raising a girl or a bunch of girls.
