Most Americans don't even know where N Korea is. They certainly don't know its history or anything about the Korean War, aka "The Forgotten War''. This you'll never see in the history books.

What War With North Korea Looked Like in the 1950s and Why It Matters Now

Quote:
In a 1984 interview, Air Force Gen. Curtis LeMay, head of the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War, claimed U.S. bombs "killed off 20 percent of the population" and "targeted everything that moved in North Korea." These acts, largely ignored by the U.S.' collective memory, have deeply contributed to Pyongyang's contempt for the U.S. and especially its ongoing military presence on the Korean Peninsula.
The US and allies under the cloak of the UN did a damn good job of bombing that country into the stone age. Infrastructure was destroyed, everything. Dams meant for irrigation purposes were destroyed flooding river valleys destroying towns and villages. Not only were people displaced by the destruction it all but ensured the starvation of many many people. Hospitals, schools even forests were set ablaze. Nothing and no one was spared.

It's disgusting. It reminds me of the Nazi occupation of the Ukraine, Belarus and parts of Russia. The Nazis thought they had won. They thought they could do anything they wanted and millions suffered and died because of the policies created. It was barbarism and many of the people who "were just following orders" thought that they were beyond retribution. Fortunately they were not.

Unfortunately for all of us today the same type scum who perpetrated this same barbarism forced on the people of the Korean peninsula has never been (over decades) been punished. Le May and many others need to have their graves pissed on. No one, not Hitler, George Bush Jr are innocent here.

This crap happens because common people do not hold the warmongers of their societies accountable for their crimes.

So you'd think that they would be a little more polite in dealing with the rest of the world, remembering what was done and knowing it can easily be done again. Maybe it's time to since reason doesn't work with them.

And, you're the first to blame Hitler and Bush in the same sentence. Congrats!

I'm not sure that's the reason. I'm coming more and more to believe that most Americans actually like it when we attack/destroy other countries. Look how often it's happened (as I'm slowly beginning to learn).

This is why so many millions like Trump. All those people like strutting, threatening, predatory bullies.

No, I wouldn't think they would be polite with the world. Kim and his people are in power for a reason, a reason we give them now and have in the past. Fear.

Why not give them the remains of MacArthur and LeMay along with a writeen apology for what was done. Then get to hell out of the area and let the koreans solve the issue themselves. Why doesn't the world use a little common sense in this?

Then explain why the US didn't want the double freeze treaty that Russia, China, North and South Korea wanted? North Korea freezes its nuclear and missile activities in exchange for the U.S. and South Korea freezing their joint military exercises.

Its complex. Suffice to say most Americans are ignorant sheep and some just like to see the world burn so long as they don't have to pick up a gun and put their butts in a trench.

America glorafies the culture of war. As a people we're backward in ways.

Uh, the N Koreans started that little scrap. MacArthur wanted to drop a nuke. Truman should have let him.

You have a twisted view of history.

The doughboy and his father have probably killed off 20 of the population as well. And he's not being punished. He's being applauded.

The real losers are the average people who have to live in that hellhole day to day. But then, nobody seems to care. They care more about something that happened over 60 years ago during a war. Sadly.

Funny how you are so focused on what happened to the North during the War, yet ignore what the North did in the South when they took over most all of it. Me thinks someone has an agenda.
