This is not true. The 'left' gets upset when someone who lives in Nevada and is probably not a hunter has 10 guns and kills over 50 by shooting at them.
I suspect some on the right are upset by this as well.
Not sure why the number of guns, color of the killer, location or even method of killing matter?
I'm not a gun guy, I don't own one but from my understanding a semi automatic rifle shoots a round as fast as you can pull the trigger and is probably more accurate for distance shots which this guy was doing. I can't imagine he used the automatic feature if he was concerned about accuracy.
Who needs accuracy when spraying a tightly-packed crowd of 20,000 people?
Unless you restrict the sale of semi automatic weapons in this country these shootings will continue. You don't need to halt weapon sales but severely restrict access. Start with required background checks, mandatory training, and for God sakes, get a NATIONAL database of weapons sales. Small steps, but better than nothing.
That only halts access to those who obey the laws. Won't stop criminals at all. That's why gun control fails every single time. Every single time. Look at how many Chicago felons have guns, even though gun control laws forbid it, and shoot each other every weekend.

What is the significance of him living in Nevada? He lived in a rural area not Vegas. If he purchased the weapons legally and had no criminal record then what do you want?
The issue is one crazy person went on a shooting spree not that millions of law abiding Americans own guns and do not randomly shoot people.
Guns are a weapon, a tool. They are not the #1 problem as so many say. I personally do not like guns, open carry laws, etc. It's the human being behind the gun that's the problem.
Academy (at least here in Texas anyway). I can buy an AR-15 with no problem, but I prefer sidearms to long guns. All you have to do is switch the selector-switch from "semi" to "auto" on your AR-15. Then viola...
Stop the so easy access. Do you have any SOLUTION?
I know. Give them a discoUnt to join the NRA. !!!!!!!!!!!!
Multiple background checks, and licenses and around $100k for just one and you call that easy access ?
Or do you mean an illegal firearm ? Now I'm into firearms and wouldn't even know the first place to look for an illegal full auto weapon. I guess I could just head to Detroit , Chicago , Atlanta , St. Louis, Baltimore or any other inner city cesspool and find someone willing to sell theirs.

Where did you get your AR-15?
Mine say safe and fire. That's it.
