The Second Amendment was clearly intended to ensure that men could be called up suddenly to defend the country - since there was no standing army - so presumably they would be entitled to as much weaponry that one man could comfortably carry on his own. I suppose that originally that meant carrying a couple of muskets, although now it would translate a little differently.
The venerable Second Amendment to the US Constitution ensures the citizens' right to keep and bear arms.
But how many arms? Two? Six? Twenty? 48? 600?
If Congress decided to strip Americans of all arms but two, how would 2nd Am advocates justify their "right" to bear an unlimited amount of arms?
Agreed. But let's take this a step further. Since cars contribute to AGW and are classified deadly weapons in the hands of drunks or the infirm, let's limit how much you can drive and how much gas you can buy a week. Then also it will be dictated what type you can buy and how many. Any excess cars will go to the breakers yard or rendered inoperable.
I may own a dozen guns but can only shoot 1 at a time. What would limiting the amount of guns accomplish?
