This whole business about Trump's uncompassionate response to Maria and Puerto Rico is a Leftist lie that was orchestrated by the Left to make Maria Trump's "Katrina." For one thing, the claim was that "nothing was being done" to help. The truth is that the Navy had ships offshore before the storm even made landfall.
Others have criticized the fact that the USS Comfort was not there. The truth is that the Comfort wasn't designed for relief efforts. It was designed for military combat support. It has no well decks for equipment, and cannot support the type and number of helicopters that are necessary for disaster relief. The ships that were stationed offshore have hospital facilities. The Comfort would have been of little use.
So, stop with the lies and quit using this disaster for your political purposes.
Frigates are not designed for relief efforts either but have proven very effective at providing thousands of liters of emergency necessary desalinated water, helicopter supply drops and rescue. manpower, and yes medical assistance after one of these terrible things.
The USN Comfort is there and functioning well in that role now, so your post is not only desperate in it's intent to justify a lack of thought process considered normal in others, it's proven completely wrong due to the Comfort's effect elsewhere and now that it's there.
