If you are going to demonstrate your convictions about anything, it should be on your own time and not when you are being paid to perform. That's the difference between being a professional and a private citizen.

What in the first amendment gives anyone the right to kneel during the anthem while at work? Have you ever actually read the first amendment? I doubt it.

This is not a first amendment issue.

What the hell is this jib jab? In plain English... I said you have the right to protest, and I respect that right, but I have no respect for a person that disrespects their country.

9 confirmed fascists responded yes to this poll. Not surprising.

No, but if you’re a public figure and you don’t, you may lose support ($$$).

I don't think the government should force anyone to stand for the anthem or say the pledge.

However if I was an NFL team owner, or if I was the owner of a private school, then I would require my athletes/students to do so. Freedom of speech only applies to the government. I'm sure if an NFL player even had a Confederate flag flying from his house off the job liberals would demand he be fired from the team. Colin Kaepernick and the other clowns are doing this ON THE JOB.

Good post.

I wonder how long the NFL would tolerate fans bringing Nazi flags into the stadium.

But this issue is not about the First Amendment. It's about employee / employer relations and marketing an entertainment product.

That is a pretty silly analogy.

My take on this whole question is - should the government force you to stand. If your employer forces you to stand that is on them. They can do what they like and you are free to quit. Trump should not be weighing in on this telling employers what to do.
