Yup. If you read any of the histories of the Spanish Civil War, you see that elements of French & British (& US) government & elites favored crushing the Spanish Republic because it was Socialist, Communist, pro-labor, Jewish, anti-Christian (anti- all religion? hard to tell, @ this distance), pro-universal education, pro- women. In other words, a horror for Medieval Spain.

I'm not sure that being against Jews (anti-Semitic?) is the same as racism. I suppose that @ the point that you're denied education, work, voting rights, the right to own property & so on, & in worst cases, life & limb, it hardly matters.

@ the height of Islamic expansion around the Mediterranean, it looked like Islam might be the coming thing in Europe. But Europe rallied, Islam was driven out of Spain & lost various land & naval battles, & Islam generally receded.

& PC itself (in the modern sense) is a Nazi concept (or @ least mentioned in relation to Nazi policy - see below), dating back to the 1930s CE - shortly after the founding of the Third Reich, as I recall. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctness)

"Early-to-mid 20th century[edit]

"In the early-to-mid 20th century, the phrase "politically correct" was used to describe strict adherence to a range of ideological orthodoxies. In 1934, the New York Times reported that Nazi Germany was granting reporting permits "only to pure ‘Aryans’ whose opinions are politically correct."[2]

"As Marxist movements gained political power, the phrase came to be associated with the dogmatic application of Stalinist doctrine, debated between Communist Party members and American Socialists. This usage referred to the Communist party line, which provided "correct" positions on many political matters. According to American educator Herbert Kohl, writing about debates in New York in the late 1940s and early 1950s,

"The term "politically correct" was used disparagingly, to refer to someone whose loyalty to the CP line overrode compassion, and led to bad politics. It was used by Socialists against Communists, and was meant to separate out Socialists who believed in egalitarian moral ideas from dogmatic Communists who would advocate and defend party positions regardless of their moral substance.

Small world!

And, yes, Thailand is a very attractive and desired location for expats.

My spouse and youngest got sick while we were there one time (bacterial variance in food and/or the water in which it was prepared), and the cost of the Dr visit, lab tests (bicycle messengered and returned the same day), and prescribed meds came to a grand total of $140 US for them both, full private pay.

One other thing I love? Easy to convert Thai Baht to ballpark $US. Round the second to last digit before the decimal point up or down, drop the last digit, and divide by 3.

1500 Baht = $50.

Well, the Chinese did settle the Americas. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indige...f_the_Americas

"Indigenous genetic studies suggest that the first inhabitants of the Americas share a single ancestral population, one that developed in isolation, conjectured to be Beringia.[43][44] The isolation of these peoples in Beringia might have lasted 10–20,000 years.[45][46][47] Around 16,500 years ago, the glaciers began melting, allowing people to move south and east into Canada and beyond.[38][48][49] These people are believed to have followed herds of now-extinct Pleistocene megafauna along ice-free corridors that stretched between the Laurentide and Cordilleran Ice Sheets.[50]

"Another route proposed involves migration – either on foot or using primitive boats – along the Pacific Northwest coast to the south, including as far as South America.[51] Archeological evidence of the latter would have been covered by the sea level rise of more than 120 meters since the last ice age.[52]

"The time range of 40,000–16,500 years ago is debatable and probably will remain so for years to come.[37][38] The few agreements achieved to date include:[53][54]

* origin from Central Asia (DNA studies reported in 2012 indicate the area of Altai Republic, with a separation of populations 20,000-25,000 years ago)[55]"

(My emphasis - more @ the URL)

So - the population that became Native Peoples in the Americas were Chinese - or @ least proto-Chinese.

The US antebellum southern plantation supervisors kept individual records of who picked how much cotton - for all their workers. Of course, the discipline for those who slacked or didn't meet quota - which was raised every time possible - was a flogging, possibly to death - or death by infection, sepsis, failure to heal sufficiently well to work & make quota & avoid subsequent floggings - see The half has never been told : slavery and the making of American capitalism / Edward E. Summary
• Historian Edward Baptist reveals how the expansion of slavery in the first eight decades after American independence drove the evolution and modernization of the United States.

Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month is in May.
American Indian Heritage Month is in November.
Hispanic Heritage Month is in October.
Irish-American Heritage Month is in March.
Jewish-American Heritage Month is in May.
Haitian Heritage Month is in May.
Caribbean-American Heritage Month is in June...

...and on and on. People such as yourself just have an obsession with black people...

Wrong. Whites had gathered to watch a lynching of a black man who had not been tried according to the law. Uppity blacks went to defend him and whites with their appetite for destruction killed hundreds and destroyed everything.

Yams, watermelons, rice, several bean sources, sorghum, okra, and coffee are native to Africa. All of these came to Europe and the Americas by way of Africa, including plantains and millet.

I’m also sure that forms of modern music like salsa, jazz, rock wouldn’t exist without people from West and Central Africa.

Not only do people such as yourself say silly things like this, but you no clue as to what “civilization” is, or the slightest inkling as to what goes into building one.

You probably think Europe got to where it is today all on their own, without subjugating and exploiting outside groups of people, which is not true.

And I’m sure You probably think every country outside Europe, the US, and Canada is a ****hole which also is NOT TRUE.

None of this at all disputes the post you replied to. What on earth does that have to do with western societies being the most progressive and fair places on this planet to live? For all the bitching about "white supremacy," it's amazing how today white societies offer more opportunity, equality and freedom to minorities in their midsts than countries where POC are majorities, eh?

Also, certain crops came from different parts of the world? Wow. Groundbreaking knowledge you're dropping there. Gold also means nothing to those who have no use for it.

The fact is Sub-Saharan Africa has never been a place of innovation. Probably since fire was discovered by our common ancestor(s).

That people from around the world are most innovative WHEN they come to live in the west ALSO speaks to the advancements of the western world. You think the conditions and institutional framework for success was laid overnight? That it wasn't forged in the struggles of European peoples over centuries --- from Greece to Rome to the Middle Ages and Enlightenment?

Keep your damned jazz music. Music tastes and fads swell and fade away. Rule of law. Principles of free expression and liberty. The idea of the relationship between person and state. These are the underpinnings of a civilization. Not yams and coffee.

The western African king Mansu Musa was the world's richest man - ever. His fortune was built on selling his people to the Arabs. Slavery and resource extraction (this, hundreds of years before the first European made it down to colonize Europe).

What did he do with those riches (other than spend it on his way to Mecca)? What did his people build with those resources? What enduring institutions lasted beyond his reign? THAT is the failure of Africa and of the third world.

People like you think Europe got where it is ONLY because of "subjugation of people and resources"... as if European history began in 1492. I think you need to study history just a tad bit more.
