My sentiments exactly.

With that said, from a practical standpoint the election became a choice between two awful candidates and the decision point, which I believe was crucial, was to decide which one of the two would do the least damage to the country and the world. No other candidate had a prayer of winning, so not voting for one of the two major party candidates was a wasted vote from a practical standpoint. It had no effect on the end result, and never could have. It was a choice to avoid the decision I made earlier in order to make a pointless statement. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but by effectively choosing not to seriously participate in the decision, third party or non voters still did have a potential impact on the outcome.
I've been saying this for a year. I can't agree more.

The "Well I didn't vote for either" people drive me insane.

To get a good look at how Trump's mind works, watch his interview over the weekend with Fox Business Channel’s Maria Bartiromo. Her questions are so softball they could be playing balloon volleyball at the old folks' home, yet rump is simply incapable of discussing any topic with anything "remotely resembling an informed or coherent way."

Trump’s grasp of his own current No. 1 policy priority -- the tax bill -- is all over over place. He can't remember whether it's $4K or $5K in middle-income tax rebate or whether it's for an individual or a group (?) then he meanders off message, admits that what he’s really backing is a huge tax cut for rich business owners, and keeps getting distracted by a name-dropping story about the owner of the New England Patriots.

Regarding the bipartisan healthcare legislation his administration has been working to pass for 9 months, he knows little other than Lamar Alexander is a fine man and that he doesn't know Patty Murray, the top Democrat on the committee with jurisdiction over health care.

He constantly spouts "inaccuracies."

“If we pick up one point on GDP that’s $2.5 trillion if you think of.”

No, it isn't. The correct number would be $185 billion. "Trump missed the mark by a couple of trillion bucks — which is a lot of money even for a rich guy."

As usual, Trump "mouths off at turns ignorantly and dishonestly, and nobody pays much attention to it unless he says something unusually inflammatory."

Hard to say.

After all the hearings and investigations and stern men at the podium, wouldn't it be strange if it's the "Whacky Wilson" who turns the tide?

I'm pretty sure that wasn't Trump that planned that particular defeat. You have to give his team the credit for that.

He just brought the name recognition as Birther-in-Chief and his "talks like the common person" method of addressing crowds.

That stuff alone would not win people over... ask Sarah Palin.

What will win is a top-notch campaign staff. He had that.

And, now that he's in office, he's really not performing well.

I don't think he's lost his mind. I think he's never had a soul and the shallowness of his character is coming to light with all the media focus that naturally comes with being a president and world leader. He's always been a liar and a cheat who worships money above all.

That is only true for swing states IMO. Voting third party in places like New York or Mississippi was not going to hurt anything.

Don't lump us all into the same bucket as you bc you fell for a nonsense smear campaign. This lesser of two evils story is something that only Americans managed to latch on to. The rest of the world saw it as pretty clear option between someone supremely qualified and someone completely unqualified.

when a novice politician can beat a politician with 30 years of political experience you know the country wanted change and you know the novice was much smarter than their opponent

Smear campaigns are Republican stock in trade. Remember their "swift boating" lies against Kerry? Near the end of his life, Lee Atwater stated he regretted all the lies he was part of spreading, for his "naked cruelty" against Dukakis.

This time around, Putin joined the Rs in spreading propaganda.

Got to love all those who have been steady posting propaganda and lies spread by Rs and the Russians who are now insisting that nobody influenced their vote.
