I skimmed the article and my impressions was what a bunch of doo doo.
The only abyss that is happening right now is the one that is opening up under the Clintons concerning the Russia collusion mess of a scandal or should we call it a "matter" ?
The media is ignoring this scandal and instead continue to point fingers at Trump for whatever the drummed up outrage is today. I have lost track of what I'm supposed to be shocked at.
There is not a "dark spell of Trump" but instead they are Patriotic people that have their eyes open and felt genuine concern for America. I am one of those deplorables and everyday I awake happy that despite how many times that Trump has jammed his foot into his mouth he is NOT Hillary.
Its a amalgamation of everything said by most of the left and central posters here, and does mention some of the nonsense brought up by the far right. If you are a regular reader here, there really is nothing of interest in the article. Its all been said here.

This will mean nothing to Trump supporters they have had 10-20 years of FOX whispering in their ears and telling them that the ends justify the means. Many of them know that much of what they are saying is built of lies, but they tell themselves that it does not matter and that they are still good people even as they smear innocent and honest Americans.
I don't know where this will finish, but it seems pretty certain the left is going to follow suit and become as lost and full of lies as the right. We can see the left learning in real time, we can see the left taking the first steps towards mirroring the hateful on the right.
the saving grace for the left is we run the economy and have a lot more money than the right could ever hope to have, it is just a pity we will have to start using it for politics instead of cancer research and charitable works.....
