Enable our congressional representatives to better serve our nation.
Increase Congressional terms to 3 years:

I don't believe that 2 year congressional terms of office has provided us with U.S. congressional representatives more responsive to their constituents, but rather they're more dependent upon campaign contributors.

I perceive increasing their terms to 3 years as a net beneficial to our nation.
Although it will not significantly improve our House of Representatives, it would to some extent decrease financial contributors' great influences within the chamber.

No.

Two years is plenty for them.

PedroMartinez, shorter term, (i.e 2 year) leashes, increases campaign contributors' influential powers.

I would go along with that if we also had a two term limit for the House, and two term MAX limit for the Senate. Career politicians of BOTH parties are a pariah.

Heck, I would like to see four years, with a two term limit.

The present House members took their seats this past January 20th. After the start of the new year, they will begin campaigning again; they already devote a good portion of their time to fund-raising.

Ah, well, it would take a Constitutional Amendment, which means that it will never happen.

Frank DeForrest, even within socialist states, wealth and power are accumulated. Reducing the extents of power proportional to wealth, is our best hope.

LegalSea & Pilot1, members of Congress need no less than 2 years to only begin gaining knowledge and experience required for navigating the House of representatives complex parliamentary rules, establish some kind of voting record of their own, and find additional supporters to dilute their dependency to few supporters.

I'm not a proponent of term limits but a limit of 3 or 4 terms of 3 years each would be OK.
Campaign contributors are more important to lesser known candidates; but endorsements from popular retiring office holders are helpful.

It seems silly and a waste of funds to have a separate election for Congress on the years it falls outside of normal election cycle.
